  • Publication number: 20180223385
Abstract: In a method for increasing steel impact toughness, the steel composition contains from about 5 wt % to about 10 wt % manganese and has a martensite finish temperature (Mf) below room temperature. The steel composition is exposed to hot forming to form a steel part. During hot forming, the steel composition is subjected to a heat treatment temperature above its fully austenite formed temperature, is transferred to a die, and while in the die, is simultaneously formed and quenched. In one example, quenching cools the steel composition to room temperature, and the steel part is removed from the die and reheated to a baking temperature ranging from about 120° C. to about 400° C. In another example, quenching is interrupted at an interruption temperature ranging from about 120° C. to about 400° C., and the steel composition is maintained at the interruption temperature for a predetermined time and then is cooled to room temperature.

Abstract: Methods for press hardening steel alloys comprised of medium-Mn are provided. The press-hardened steel alloy may have an ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of at least 1,700 MPa and a tensile elongation of at least 8%. The press-hardened steel alloy may be formed in two forming steps above the martensitic finish temperature. The press-hardened steel may have a microstructure comprising martensite at greater than or equal to about 80% to less than or equal to about 98% and retained austenite at less than or equal to about 20% to greater than or equal to about 2%.

  • Patent number: 9994961
Abstract: A metallic alloy includes Cu and one or more metals M selected from the group consisting of Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Zn, wherein the alloy has a surface in the form of a vermiculated arrangement of irregular, nanoporous lands separated by troughs or channels. It can be made by contacting a precursor alloy including Cu, M and Al with a caustic liquid under conditions sufficient to remove the Al. Or, a metallic alloy includes Cu and one or more metals M selected from the group consisting of Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Zn, wherein the one or more metals M in total constitute in a range of 3 at. % to 7 at. %, relative to the total of Cu and M. Both types of alloy can be used as an electrocatalyst in a water electrolyzer or a hydrogen fuel cell.

  • Patent number: 9984164
Abstract: Computer systems and methods allow users to annotate content items found in a corpus such as the World Wide Web Annotations, which can include any descriptive and/or evaluative metadata related to a document, are collected from a user and stored in association with that user. Users are able to annotate and view their annotations for any document they encounter while interacting with the corpus, including hits returned in a search of the corpus. Users are also able to search their annotations or to limit searches to documents they have annotated. Metadata from annotations can also be aggregated across users and aggregated metadata applied in generating search results.

  • Publication number: 20170279906
Abstract: The techniques discussed herein allow an agent that provides dialog-based services to converse with a user via any mode. A central service programmed to be able to communicate via any mode collects information from agents necessary to act on the agents' behalf. In order to ensure that an agent has a maximal presence across modes, the central service provides auxiliary services such as language translation, fidelity upgrading and/or downgrading, modal constraint conformation, etc. Moreover, the central service provides session tracking via user profiles stored at the intercom so that if a user changes a mode by which the user is conversing with an agent, the central service can keep the context of the conversation across the new mode. Furthermore, agents can communicate with other agents via the central service, allowing other agents to provide services to agents or to add their services to an ongoing dialog with a user.

  • Publication number: 20170262156
Abstract: According to an example, a position of a pointer may be detected to be positioned over an icon of a plurality of selectable icons. A menu containing a set of sub-icons corresponding to the icon may be displayed and a first location and a second location of the displayed menu may be determined. A first line and a second line may be determined and a plurality of points in a movement of the pointer may be recorded. A third line that crosses the plurality of recorded points may also be determined. In response to a determination that the third line is within an area between the first line and the second line, the menu may continue to be displayed while the pointer passes over another icon of the plurality of selectable icons.

  • Patent number: 9754029
Abstract: A search query is received. Personal information for a user is then determined. A search is performed in a general subdomain of general content using the search query. For example, the general subdomain of general content may be a WWW search. Then, a vertical subdomain is determined based on the personal information. A search is then performed in the vertical subdomain of specialized content using the search query. The search performed in the general subdomain and the search performed in the vertical subdomain generate general search results and vertical search results. The results may be combined and outputted to a client.
