Abstract: Methods and devices for allocating codes to user devices to enable extracting an intended signal among a plurality of signals multiplexed over the same physical channel are provided. The methods include determining a threshold number of orthogonal codes to be reserved for allocation to first user devices, based on (i) a number of orthogonal codes usable for allocating, (ii) a usage of the orthogonal codes, and (iii) an average penetration of first user devices, the first user devices being less capable than the second user devices to cancel undesirable interference from a signal extracted using the allocated code. The methods further include allocating an orthogonal code if a number of available orthogonal codes is larger than the threshold number, otherwise allocating an orthogonal code if a first user device requests a connection, and a quasi-orthogonal code if a second user device requests a connection.

Abstract: The multichannel capillary biosensor system includes a selecting valve system for selection of the sample or a reagent. The selecting valve system is connected to a second valve system accommodating a sensing channel and a first bypass channel. The second valve system is connected to a directing valve system having at least two positions, with a first position being connected to a second bypass channel and a second position being connected to a detector for detecting the analyte. The device has a pump connected at one end to the second bypass channel and the detector and at a second end to a waste vessel. The device also has a control system for controlling the device. The analyte can be selected from the group of microorganisms, macromolecules, and small molecules.

Abstract: Embodiments for recommending gifts to users for their gift recipients over a network are described. The gift recommendation system may retrieve gender and age information of a gift recipient, for example, via a graphical user interface, and then may automatically present to the user a list of predetermined number of gift categories selected based on the gender and age information of the gift recipient. Once a gift category is selected from the presented list of predetermined amount of gift categories, the gift recommendation system may automatically present to the user a list of gift items belonging to the respective selected gift categories.

Abstract: The invention discloses a method for providing a real time ringback tone in a communication network and the method includes: establishing a call connection between a calling party and a called party according to a received calling request; receiving a ringback tone indication value from the called party; obtaining a corresponding ringback tone according to the ringback tone indication value; and playing the corresponding ringback tone to the calling party. The invention further provides a system for providing a real time ringback tone in a communication network and a terminal therefor. By using the technology of the invention, a different ringback tone can be played to the calling user in real time according to the current situation. Therefore, individualized requirements of the user may be met and the quality of communication service may be further improved.

Abstract: An automated chemistry analysis method is disclosed. In one general aspect, the method includes receiving a modular chemistry analysis test unit that includes one or more vessels for one or more reagents, and a machine-readable test specification coupled with the vessels. The method also includes defining a test that defines a test including a series of operations that employ the reagents for the vessels, and installing the chemistry analysis test unit in a first chemistry analyzer that includes one or more analysis tools and sequencing logic for sequencing instructions to be carried out by the analysis tools. The machine-readable test specification is automatically received from the chemistry analysis test module and stored for access by the sequencing logic to allow the sequencing logic to instruct the analysis tools to carry out the test defined by the test specification.

Abstract: Disclosed in one general aspect is a modular chemistry analysis test unit for a chemistry analyzer that includes one or more vessels for one or more reagents. A machine-readable test specification is coupled with the vessels and identifies a series of test operations that employ the reagents for the vessels. The specification includes one or more reagent quantity specifications that specify a quantity of the reagents to mix with a test sample, and one or more reaction duration specifications that specify a reaction time for the reagents and test sample.

Abstract: Disclosed in one general aspect is a method of operating a chemistry analyzer method that includes determining usage levels associated with a plurality of storage vessels that store reagents for use by the analyzer. A pictorial representation that includes a plurality of graphical elements that convey levels of usage for the storage vessels is displayed to the operator. A series of access icons that are each associated with a color and each lead to a set of screens for different types of operations for the analyzer are also displayed, with the screens being color coded to correspond to the color associated with their respective access icons.

Abstract: This invention relates to methods of generating NP gallium nitride (GaN) across large areas (>1 cm2) with controlled pore diameters, pore density, and porosity. Also disclosed are methods of generating novel optoelectronic devices based on porous GaN. Additionally a layer transfer scheme to separate and create free-standing crystalline GaN thin layers is disclosed that enables a new device manufacturing paradigm involving substrate recycling. Other disclosed embodiments of this invention relate to fabrication of GaN based nanocrystals and the use of NP GaN electrodes for electrolysis, water splitting, or photosynthetic process applications.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a system for building store product finders. The system may include: a product search engine configured to find, from product storage, a plurality of product subcategories that match at least one store product category of the plurality of store product categories, and a dominant product subcategory determining device configured to determine a dominant product subcategory. The dominant product subcategory has the highest product coverage among the plurality of product subcategories. The system may also include: a filter selecting device configured to select at least one product search filter from a list of product search filters, and a filter installing device configured to install the at least one product search filter in the store product finder.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a system for building store product finders. The system may include: a product search engine to find products matching at least one product subcategory of product subcategories of a store product category for a store product finder, and a dominant product subcategory determining device to determine a dominant product subcategory. Each product subcategory has a product coverage. The dominant product subcategory has a highest product coverage among the product subcategories. The system may also include a filter installing device to install at least one product search filter into the store product finder.

Abstract: A method of real-time file synchronization includes segmenting a file to be synchronized into a plurality of segments, each segment of the plurality of segments representing a portion of the file to be displayed on slave systems. The method further includes indexing the plurality of segments into a file index, the file index organized based on the format of the file to be synchronized. The method further includes generating a synchronization key, the synchronization key being included within the file to be synchronized. The method further includes transmitting a synchronization signal if a segment change is detected, the synchronization signal including a file index value, the file index value representing the segment change. The method further includes receiving the synchronization signal.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and system for providing location information. When a call is initiated, the call is connected to the ring back tone device when there is a subscription record of ring back tone location service corresponding to a user of the call; the ring back tone device acquires the location information of the terminal of the called party from the location service platform and sends the location information to the terminal of the calling party. The embodiments of the present invention provide great convenience to users. Further, the location service and the customized ring back tone service are enriched greatly and thus the service experience of users is enhanced, since location information may be sent by the ring back tone device to the terminal of calling party in forms, such as characters, voices and multimedia.
