  • Publication number: 20120120884
Abstract: Interference between users in an MU-MIMO system is minimized by effective precoding, without increasing an overhead of control data. In a wireless communication system in which multiplex communication is possible between multiple UE1, UE2, and BS, a channel estimation and precoding selection unit 539 in BS estimates channels from the respective UE1, UE2 to the BS, determines a precoding matrix P from a projection matrix to make the two channel response matrices orthogonal or nearly orthogonal, and feeds back the precoding matrix P to UE2, and executes precoding on only UE2 of the two. A precoding unit 524 in the UE2 employs the precoding matrix P that has been notified to perform precoding of a data stream, and sends the precoded data stream to the BS.

  • Publication number: 20110261894
Abstract: In a MIMO system using a cross-polarized antenna structure, even if no ideal XPD can be obtained, the interference between different polarized waves can be reduced to allow an effective precoding to be executed. When a MIMO communication is performed between a transmitter (250) and a receiver (260) each using a cross-polarized antenna structure, a channel estimating and precoding selection section (214) of the receiver (260) performs a channel estimation of MIMO channels from the transmitter to the receiver, decides a precoding matrix (P) of a projection matrix for mutually orthogonalizing or substantially orthogonalizing the channel response matrixes for respective different polarized waves, and feeds the determined precoding matrix (P) back to the transmitter (250).

  • Patent number: 7889856
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for providing ring back tones in a communication network. At first, a ring back tone device for storing and playing the ring back tone customized by a subscriber is established in the communication network. Whether a subscriber is a ring back tone service register subscriber is judged with a certain triggering mode, such as intelligent network triggering, signaling interception triggering, call forwarding triggering or switching device triggering. If it is judged the subscriber is a ring back tone service registered subscriber, a connection between the originating switching device and the terminating switching device and a connection between a switching device and the ring back tone device are established. • Patent number: 7751322
Abstract: Fractional or fuzzy time stamp values are used during processing network traffic. Handling fractional time stamp values permits scaling down of time stamp values, so that fewer bits, and memory, are needed to store each fractional time stamp value. According to a specific technique, departure times are set based on a quantity X plus Y/Z, where X is an integer, Y is a numerator, and Z is a denominator. The departure times are synchronized with the ideal departure times after (Z*X+Y) time units. A technique is provided to reduce cell delay variation.
