  • Publication number: 20070021433
Abstract: The invention relates to methods of enhancing normal melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R) activity, and to enhancing activity of an MC4R having a mutation which affects protein folding and/or processing of the MC4R. The invention provides a method of treating an individual having a condition in which increased activity of an MC4R at the cell surface would be beneficial, for example in obesity, by administering an effective amount of a pharmacological chaperone for the MC4R. The invention provides MC4R pharmacological chaperones which enhance the activity of MC4R. The invention further provides a method of screening to identify pharmacological chaperones which enhance folding of an MC4R in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), in order to enhance the activity of the MC4R at the cell surface.

  • Patent number: 7071905
Abstract: A pixel element in the matrix of pixel elements includes a light emitting diode, a resistor electrically connecting to the light emitting diode, a data input, and a sensing output. The data input receives a data signal that changes a current flowing through the light emitting diode when the data input is enabled. The sensing output generates a sensing signal when the sensing output is enabled. The sensing output generates substantially no sensing signal when the sensing output is disabled. A change in a current flowing through both the light emitting diode and the resistor induces a change in the sensing signal.

  • Patent number: 7053965
Abstract: A remote control for controlling a computer using a screen of a television is disclosed. The television receives a video signal from the computer, and a remote control receiver is connecting to the computer. The remote control includes a body member, a light-scope, a photo detector, an electromagnetic emitter, and a mouse button. The light-scope includes a lens system defining a narrow field of view and receives a light signal emitted from an aiming point on the screen of the television as pointed by the light-scope. The photo detector detects the light signal received by the light-scope. The electromagnetic emitter sends back to the remote control receiver a communicating electromagnetic signal communicating the timing that a light signal is emitted from the aiming point. The computer can display a cursor at the aiming point.

  • Patent number: 7016486
Abstract: A method of automatically switching in an on-hook state suitable for a telephone system is provided. The method automatically switches a spring circuit from an off-hook state to the on-hook state when the telephone system operates in an abnormal use state for a unreasonably long period of time. Therefore, the telephone system can be switched back to the on-hook state when the mouthpiece is unintentionally off the hook so the missing of the phone call can be effectively avoided.
