    Abstract: An immobilized selenium body, made from carbon and selenium and optionally sulfur, makes selenium more stable, requiring a higher temperature or an increase in kinetic energy for selenium to escape from the immobilized selenium body and enter a gas system, as compared to selenium alone. Immobilized selenium localized in a carbon skeleton can be utilized in a rechargeable battery. Immobilization of the selenium can impart compression stress on both the carbon skeleton and the selenium. Such compression stress enhances the electrical conductivity in the carbon skeleton and among the selenium particles and creates an interface for electrons to be delivered and or harvested in use of the battery. A rechargeable battery made from immobilized selenium can be charged or discharged at a faster rate over conventional batteries and can demonstrate excellent cycling stability.

The universal vaccines are prepared against an immunogen of an infectious pathogenic organism selected from a virus, a bacteria, a fungus or a protozoan comprising at least one ribonucleic acid (RNA) polynucleotide comprising an open reading frame encoding at least one polypeptide antigen or an immunogenic fragment thereof, wherein the polypeptide antigen, or the immunogenic fragment thereof, comprises a conserved internal protein that is enriched in CD8+ T cell recognition antigens. The effectiveness of the priming and boosting platform is tested in a humanized mouse model comprising a fully functional human immune system.

    Abstract: A vehicle door lock is disposed in a vehicle door and includes a ratchet wheel rotatable between a locked position where it captures a lock catch disposed on a vehicle body and an unlocking position where it releases the lock catch to allow the vehicle door to be opened. The vehicle door lock further includes an ice-breaking mechanism disposed in the vehicle door, and the ice-breaking mechanism applies a torque to the ratchet wheel to cause the ratchet wheel to rotate in a direction to push the lock catch so as to open the vehicle door. The vehicle door lock can be opened by pushing the ratchet wheel with e ice-breaker mechanism when the vehicle door is frozen or deformed due to collision, the operation noise is low, the cost is low, and the paint surface of the vehicle door is protected.

For example, in response to a hardware error, a microprocessor can store first data about the error in registers in the microprocessor and start to execute instructions configured in firmware and/or in an operating system. Execution of the instructions in response to the hardware error causes the microprocessor to: generating second data about the error based at least in part on the first data in the registers; and store the second data at a location not affected by restarting execution of an operating system in the processor.
