  • Patent number: 8989321
Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with preamble detection based on repeated preamble codes are described. According to one embodiment, an apparatus is provided that wirelessly receives a signal and calculates a differential output corresponding to a multiplication of the signal and a delayed version of the signal. A cross correlation is performed between the differential output and a known preamble pattern to produce a cross correlation output. One or more peaks are detected in the cross correlation. The detected peaks are used in subsequent processing to detect the known preamble pattern in the wirelessly received signal.

  • Patent number: 8976905
Abstract: A robust differential receiver is described that may be used in any frequency modulated system, including short-range radio frequency (RF) communication devices. The differential receiver provides a preamble detection approach that reduces false preamble detection, a fine carrier frequency (CFO) estimation approach that provides an extended estimation range, and robust in-band and out-of-band interference detection. The described differential receiver assures that preamble detections are not falsely triggered, and that CFO estimates are based on accurately modeled preamble waveforms that have not been distorted by phase ambiguities or in-band distortion.

  • Patent number: 8935227
Abstract: In a consumer-producer distributed model of computing, consumers request data from producers and perform computing work on the data received from the producers, thereby transforming the data. At least some of the computing work performed by a consumer on data provided by the producer is commutable between the consumer and producer, that is, either the producer as well as the consumer can perform the computing work on the data. A producer redistributes commutable based on the work load of the producer and consumer as well as other factors.

  • Patent number: 8929397
Abstract: A transmitter device includes a controller configured to generate a first field and a second field. The first field is at least one of a packet synchronization information field or a frame boundary indication field, the second field is a channel estimation field starting after the first field ends. The controller is configured to generate the second field at least in part by generating a first channel estimation sequence (CES) symbol and a second CES symbol. At least one of i) a sequence in the first field serves as a cyclic prefix of the first CES symbol, ii) a beginning portion of the second CES symbol serves as a cyclic postfix of the first CES symbol, or iii) an ending portion of the first CES symbol serves as a cyclic prefix of the second CES symbol.
