  • Publication number: 20110184452
Abstract: An intraluminal apparatus including a catheter and device is positionable at a junction of afferent and efferent vessels of a bifurcation having an aneurysm. After positioning the device to substantially conform the device to the shape of the junction, the device acts as a scaffolding to inhibit herniation of objects out of the aneurysm and the device permits perfusion to the efferent vessels. Positioning the device may include deployment and optional release from a catheter. Embolic material may be inserted in the aneurysm before or after positioning the device. The device may have a proximal end, a distal end, and a plurality of filaments extending between and coupled at the proximal end and the distal end. The device may include a central filament configured to reshape the device. The distal end of the device may include a covering. The device may be football shaped, pumpkin shaped, or acorn shaped.

  • Publication number: 20110074859
Abstract: Disclosed are a roll-to-roll printing system and method in which a large number of micro-nozzles are formed directly in a printing roll, and thus ink supplied to the central portion of the roll can be formed into micro-inkjets by inducing an electrostatic field, and furthermore, as a result of the formation of the micro-inkjets, a micro-sized pattern significantly smaller than that achievable by a prior pattern formation method can be printed on a print medium, and in addition, the relative speed of the print medium relative to the roll can be maintained at a speed close to “0” so as to improve the resolution, integration density and precision of the printed pattern. According to the present invention, a large amount of micro-nozzles are formed directly in a printing roll, and thus ink supplied to the central portion of the roll can be formed into micro-inkjets by inducing an electrostatic field.

  • Patent number: 7648614
Abstract: A web making machine is monitored to identify at least one cross-machine direction (CD) actuator that is developing local mapping problems. The identified CD actuator and a segment of surrounding actuators are probed to determine a performance curve for the actuator. The center of an insensitivity region of the performance curve is selected as an optimal mapping alignment setting for the identified actuator with the setting for the actuator being updated. Global smoothing may also be accomplished by probing a global smoothness factor to generate a corresponding performance curve that is then similarly used to select an optimal value for the smoothness factor.

  • Patent number: 7584013
Abstract: Fast cross direction caliper control recovery time in a sheet making machine during startup of the machine after a sheet break is achieved provided that a preselected time duration measured from the occurrence of the sheet break to the clearing of sheet break has elapsed. One or both of calender stack conditioning and conditioning of a measurement from a sensor for measuring caliper of the sheet, both with feedback CD control suspended, can be selectably performed. These operations can be performed concurrently if the selected time duration for both are identical. A closed loop change in a set of control tuning parameters of a PI controller providing feedback caliper control of actuators associated with the calender stack can be performed after either or both of the other operations are performed.
