  • Patent number: 5208722
Abstract: A tower unit for a personal computer wherein the tower unit is a generally rectangular box having a generally rectangular interior chassis. The interior chassis includes a first set of interiorly extending mounting flanges and tabs which are positioned and aligned on opposing chassis walls to mount one or more drives at an upwardly facing angle in order to allow the user visual and manual access to the drives for ease of operation. A similar combination of interiorly directed tabs and flanges are formed in the opposing side walls of the frame near the bottom of the tower unit chassis in order to mount a plurality of hard disk drives in horizontal positions. The frame includes a front frame panel which combines with the front bezel to provide a gripping area which cooperates with another gripping area formed in the rear bezel to allow the tower unit to be easily moved about.

  • Patent number: 5162626
Abstract: A seat mechanism including a switch flap mechanism formed integrally with a first seat pan member made of a plastic material. When an operator sits on the first seat pan member, the switch flap deflects downwardly under the weight of the operator. The switch flap deflects downwardly to engage a plunger switch mounted with a second seat pan member. When the plunger switch is depressed the vehicle components are shifted to an operative mode. An operator presence function is thereby served.

  • Patent number: 5154396
Abstract: A polyethylene plastic valve has a molded cylindrical body portion with an internal chamber with inlet and outlet openings. A unitary plastic plug member is rotatably positioned in the chamber. The plug member has an actuator portion formed of impact resistant plastic material, and a plug portion formed of dimensionally rigid plastic material with a flow passage therethrough. The plug member has open and closed positions. Dual durometer valve seats are positioned on the plug member to close the inlet and outlet openings in the valve body. The actuator portion of the plug member extends upwardly through the chamber and seals the internal chamber at the top by means of a circumferentially extending flange portion. A bottom cover plate is fused to and seals the lower end of the internal chamber. The bottom cover is arranged to disengage from the valve body and relieve excess pressure build up in the lower end of the chamber.

  • Patent number: 5135494
Abstract: A catheter device for accessing an internal body site along a small-diameter vessel path containing branch points in which the path may follow either the larger of smaller-diameter branch vessels. The device includes a catheter having a distal-end inflatable balloon and an distal-end aperture. A guide wire in the device is designed to partially block the aperture at one or more axial wire positions, allowing the balloon to be inflated by fluid infusion into the catheter. In a catheter placement operation, the catheter is advanced along the vessel path toward the selected target site. When the leading end of the catheter encounters a branch point at which the path follows the larger-diameter vessel, the guide wire is moved to a position which partially blocks the catheter aperture, and fluid is infused into the catheter to inflate the balloon. The catheter is then carried by hydrodynamic flow into the larger-diameter vessel.

  • Patent number: 5133588
Abstract: A seat assembly is provided for a lawn and garden tractor wherein a fuel tank is an integral component of the seat. A plastic fuel tank is sandwiched between an inner and an outer seat shell to provide a fuel tank which is easily accessible for maintenance and/or replacement. A fuel inlet is provided at the top portion of the seat back facilitating easy and convenient refueling of the tank. The elevated position of the fuel tank provides a head of fuel for vehicles not equipped with fuel pumps, reducing the likelihood of starvation as the vehicle is operated on hillsides and inclines.

  • Patent number: 5125919
Abstract: A wedge-shaped access port for a flexible container is described. The flexible container is formed of at least one or more sheets of material which are sealed together about the edges to form a cavity. The wedge-shaped port is sealed to the container so that a base of the wedge is exterior to the cavity and a thin edge of the wedge is located inside the cavity. An orifice in the port provides a passageway from the base of the wedge to the cavity. The wedge shape of the port allows sealing of the port to container with minimal stress or thinning of material at the seal between the port and the container.

  • Patent number: 5015171
Abstract: An improved flame holder based tunable pulse combustor, and a processing system employing same. The processing system is for thermal, chemical, and physical processes which employ natural acoustic modes in a processing chamber to enhance the processing. An acoustically resonant processing chamber is provided as the processing vessel. A frequency tunable pulse combustor comprising a flame holder is positioned to excite natural acoustic modes in the processing chamber. Material introduced into the processing chamber is thereby subjected to acoustic pulsations while the material is being processed. The acoustic excitations in the system result in improved moisture removal and particle heating. Also disclosed are various embodiments of frequency and amplitude tunable pulse combustors which may be employed to excite the natural acoustic modes in the processing chamber, including axially translatable acoustic decoupler and flame holder configurations.
