  • Patent number: 5357161
Abstract: An enclosure is provided for a motor assembly having a stator, a rotor, a shaft extending from the rotor, a first end shield and a second end shield which rotatably support the shaft, and a voltage change switch. The enclosure encases the voltage change switch so that the voltage change switch is not normally accessible. The enclosure includes a housing which at least partly covers one of the endshields and a cover which covers the voltage change switch. The cover pivots with respect to the housing so that voltage change switch may be accessed and operated. The cover is held in place by a single screw to make accessibility, when needed, simple.

  • Patent number: 5287575
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards an auxiliary hand table which is removably mounted to a main surgical table. The hand table is mounted, via first and second mounting devices, to the rails provided on each side of the main surgical table. The first mounting device includes upper and lower jaws, the upper jaw being provided with a fastener to positively attach the device to the rail. The second mounting device includes a pair of interconnected hook-shaped members which are hooked over the opposite rail. The second mounting device further includes a series of mounting studs which facilitate attachment of a hand table support structure, thereby supporting the hand table. The vertical position of the hand table relative to the main table is adjusted by altering the mounting position of the support structure to the second mounting device. A tensioning bar interconnects the mounting devices, one end of the bar being received by an elongated bore provided by the first mounting device.

  • Patent number: 5251921
Abstract: A portable supply box particularly for use in ice fishing is disclosed. The holding unit includes a body mounted on a pair of parallel ski-type runners. The unit includes an interior that is divided into three sections. The first section is a lantern section, the second is an intermediate section, and the third is a rear section. A seat is provided over the intermediate section. Both the intermediate and rear sections include hinged covers. One or both of these sections may be used for storing goods. A tray is provided for holding fishing articles such as hooks. The user straddles the body so that his hands are disposed over the lantern section. There is an opening provided over the lantern section so that rising heat may be used to warm the user's hands. A window is provided on the front end of the lantern section so that light may pass therethrough for illuminating the local environment for fishing during the evening or at night.

  • Patent number: 5249242
Abstract: Briefly, the invention provides a method of enhancing pixel data from a raster image to improve the appearance of the rendered image by modifying morphological artifacts which normally occur in raster image systems. The method commences by applying a window to a portion of the raster pixel data from the raster images to define a block of raster pixel data having a predetermined area. The pattern of the block of raster data within the window is then compared with a plurality of predetermined patterns representing morphological artifacts. A determination is made from the comparison whether a substantial match exists between the block of raster data within the window and one or more of the plurality of predetermined patterns. In the event of a match the block of raster data is modified to provide an enhanced block of raster pixel data free of said morphological artifacts.

  • Patent number: 5233243
Abstract: Push-pull flux quantum superconducting digital logic circuits are provided with a circuit branch having a pair of Josephson junctions electrically connected in series with each other. This circuit branch is connected between positive and negative bias voltage supplies which supply a bias current to the Josephson junctions. A dual polarity input voltage signal is applied to a node in the circuit branch and an output signal is extracted from a second node in the circuit branch. Various logic operations can be performed on the input signal by adding additional components and changing the points at which voltage is input to and output from the Josephson junction circuit branch.

  • Patent number: 5233242
Abstract: Push-pull flux quantum gate array cells synchronously process a pair of polarized data signals. These polarized data signals can be derived from dual polarity data signals by separating the input signals into positive polarity data signals and negative polarity data signals. At least one logic or arithmetic operation is performed on each of the positive and negative polarity signals to produce modified positive and negative polarity signals respectively. These modified positive polarity and negative polarity signals can also be combined to produce a modified dual polarity output data signal. Numerous logic operations can be achieved in gate array cells which perform this signal processing method. By using push-pull flux quantum circuits, the need for auxiliary timing signals or interferometers is minimized.
