  • Patent number: 9610168
Abstract: A total ankle replacement prosthesis may comprise a tibial implant, a talar implant, and an intermediate implant. The intermediate implant may fixedly attach to the tibial implant and may articulate with respect to the talar implant. The intermediate implant may have unequal front and back angular extent, so as to discourage a particular direction of subluxation, and a kit may be provided containing various such intermediate implants. Various features may be provided in regard to dovetails, fins, recesses, the placement of fins and pegs, and the shape of the perimeter of the tibial implant. Recesses may allow a surgical blade to slice a latch off of an already-installed intermediate implant, in order to allow its removal from the tibial implant.

  • Patent number: 9512531
Abstract: A method of stripping, prepping and coating a surface includes first stripping the exiting coating from a surface, using continuous or pulsed fluid jet, followed by prepping the surface by the same fluid jet. The method also provides entraining particles into a fluid stream, if desired to generate a particle-entrained fluid stream that is directed at the surface to be stripped and prepped. The particles act as abrasive particles for prepping the surface to a prescribed surface roughness required for subsequent application of a coating to the surface. The method then entails coating the surface by electrically charging particles having the same chemical composition as the particles used to prep the surface. Finally, a charged-particle-entrained fluid stream is directed at high speed at the charged surface to coat the surface. The particles form both mechanical and electronic bonds with the surface.

  • Patent number: 9487975
Abstract: An improved security system to prevent unwanted entrance through a hinged barrier, such as, but not limited to a door, is provided and comprises a member associated with the barrier, whether internal or eternal to the barrier, and adapted to extend from a first length to a second length. An actuation mechanism is coupled to the member and is adapted to extend the member from the first length to the second length and to contract the member from the second length to the first length. A receptacle is provided adjacent the barrier for receiving a portion of the member when the member is extended by the actuating mechanism. A hinge assembly is provided and is disposed substantially opposite the receptacle and adjacent the barrier and is coupled to another end of the member, such that when the member is actuated to the extended position, the member, receptacle and hinge assembly form a security system to prevent unwanted entrance through the barrier.

  • Patent number: 9464461
Abstract: The present invention, and inventive system, describes a locking system that reinforces an existing recessed cover or tubular. In many embodiments of the present invention, the present invention reinforces an existing recessed cover by preventing the recessed covers from being easily removed by unauthorized persons and prevents any unauthorized personnel from accessing a locked down tubular. In one embodiment of the present invention, the inventive system is designed to maximize the overall strength of the locking unit for recessed covers or tubulars by using applied force on both the recessed cover and the circumference, curves, or straight, edge of the recessed unit or tubular interior.

  • Patent number: 9377037
Abstract: The present invention, and inventive system, describes a lock system that is designed to be attached to an existing cast iron loose grate and or manhole covers that sits in a cast iron or other material frame allowing the loose grate to be locked into the frame so it cannot be removed from the frame accidently or on purpose without the proper tool to unlock the security locking bolt. In some embodiments of the present invention, the present invention does not need a frame and interacts with the wall holding the cover directly. In at least one embodiment the present invention operates by an upper and lower section. The lower section may have multiple bars that operate independently of each other. These lower sections can rotate about a screw which is located in a hole drilled through a grate or manhole, such that the lower sections can rotate across the manhole cover and extrude past the radius of the manhole cover.
