  • Publication number: 20140060129
Abstract: The present invention, and inventive system, describes a locking system that reinforces an existing recessed cover or tubular. In many embodiments of the present invention, the present invention reinforces an existing recessed cover by preventing the recessed covers from being easily removed by unauthorized persons and prevents any unauthorized personnel from accessing a locked down tubular. In one embodiment of the present invention, the inventive system is designed to maximize the overall strength of the locking unit for recessed covers or tubulars by using applied force on both the recessed cover and the circumference, curves, or straight, edge of the recessed unit or tubular interior.

  • Publication number: 20140007632
Abstract: The present invention, and inventive system, is a new locking mechanism that prevents entry for doors, or other barriers that can use a deadbolt system, or system comparable to a deadbolt system. The present invention can be installed and works in corn unction with the existing deadbolt assembly to prevent lock, picking, a bump key, or a user's own key from being used to open the door. In the present invention, by engaging the arm latch, or arm actuator, of the present invention, over the turn knob on an existing deadbolt, the present invention prevents the free rotation movement of the turn knob, thus not allowing retraction of the deadbolt, and entry through that door or barrier.

  • Patent number: 8550873
Abstract: A method of prepping a surface using a high-frequency forced pulsed waterjet entails generating a high-frequency signal having a frequency f using a high-frequency signal generator, applying the high-frequency signal to a transducer having a microtip to cause the microtip of the transducer to vibrate to thereby generate a forced pulsed waterjet through an exit orifice of a nozzle having an exit orifice diameter d and a length L. The forced pulsed waterjet prepares the surface to within a predetermined range of surface roughness. The surface roughness is determined by selecting operating parameters comprising a standoff distance (SD), a traverse velocity VTR of the nozzle, a water pressure P, a water flow rate Q, a length-to-diameter (L/d) ratio, a microtip-to-orifice distance (a), the frequency f, and an amplitude A of the high-frequency signal.

  • Patent number: 8539691
Abstract: An alignment device or jig that includes a level and a rule which is used for hanging wall supported items. The device includes locator blocks with locator pins for supporting the item and stud finder sensors for locating wall studs. The locator pins extend to protrude from the back side of the jig to allow a mark to be made into the hanging surface when the jig is pressed against the hanging surface. In the event that the item requires a stronger surface to hang onto due to excessive weight, a stud finder system can be utilized. In operation, one or more of picture frames to be mounted to a wall are hung on the device on one or more hangers. The hangers are slidingly spaced along the device scale for desired picture spacing. The device with the frames is placed against the wall and pressed to the wall, wherein the marking points mark the wall at the exact desired points where permanent hangers will be driven into the wall to support the one or more picture frames.

  • Publication number: 20130230910
Abstract: A process challenge device tailored to mimic the resistance of a particular product to a particular biological inactivation, disinfection, or sterilization process, and used to challenge the process, thus providing a means to validate the efficacy of the process. The process challenge device is used by subjecting the device containing indicator organisms to an inactivation or sterilization process, and culturing any surviving indicator organisms as a means to assess the efficacy of procedures for the inactivation of microorganisms. The device uses a self-containing biological indicator (SCBI) with a biological indicator and media ampule located within a plastic vial. By altering the materials and/or configuration of the SCBI a wide range of resistances to sterilant gas processes may be achieved.

  • Patent number: 8381381
Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method and apparatus for producing fire rated doors having added strength, better finishing and low cost manufacturing flexibility. The fire rated doors are made from two panels “sandwiched” together. An optional interior layer (e.g., fire resistant material, lead sheeting, steel or Kevlar) can be added between the door panels for various purposes. Splines, stiles or sticks are inserted in longitudinal channels in the door panels to provide assistance in aligning the door panels and greater hardware holding strength. An intumescent banding material concealed by a banding material around the perimeter of the door seals the door within its frame during a fire. The door design and the automated manufacturing process provide greater design choice, reduced cost and faster fabrication.
