  • Patent number: 7894560
Abstract: A processing module including an interpolator, a demodulator, and a tracking module. The interpolator applies a feedback signal to a first digitized signal having a first data rate to produce a second digitized signal having a second data rate. The demodulator processes the second digitized signal to produce a digital composite signal having a timing component. The tracking module mixes the digital composite signal with a reference signal and produces the feedback signal. The tracking module may include a mixer, a filter, a comparator, a loop filter and a quantizer. The mixer and filter mixes an input signal with a reference signal to provide a filtered timing error signal. The comparator compares the timing error signal with a reference signal and produces an offset signal. The loop filter processes the offset signal to produce a filtered offset. The quantizer processes the filtered offset to produce the feedback signal.

  • Patent number: 7856073
Abstract: A radio receiver includes a communication interface, a mixing module, an analog to digital converter, a digital gain block, and a gain setting block. The communication interface receives a continuous time radio signal. The mixing module down converts the continuous time radio signal to a continuous time analog signal. The analog to digital converter converts the continuous time analog signal to a sequence of input digital samples. The digital gain block receives the sequence of input digital samples and gain adjusts the sequence of input digital samples based upon a gain setting to produce a sequence of output digital samples. The gain setting block produces the gain setting at any time as one of a first fixed gain setting, a second fixed gain setting, and a filtered time varying gain when transitioning between the first fixed gain setting and the second fixed gain setting.

  • Patent number: 7826406
Abstract: A mobile communication device uses a condensed text message store wherein individual messages of a thread are stored in such a manner that the thread can later be reconstructed for display. By storing individual messages rather than thread objects including duplicative content, device memory is conserved. Network bandwidth can also be preserved by sending only individual messages between the device and a central server (which server may also utilize a condensed message store).

  • Patent number: 7697912
Abstract: The present invention provides a method to adjustably sample a first digitized signal having a first data rate to produce a second digitized signal having a second data rate. This involves processing the second digitized signal to produce an output signal having a timing component contained therein. An error sensing module determines a timing error between the timing component and a digitized reference period. Then this timing error is used to produce a feedback signal that is applied to the sample timing of the first digitized signal. This allows the second digitized signal to be processed using a time domain associated with the second data rate.
