  • Publication number: 20230386308
Abstract: In some embodiments, optical fiber monitoring may be facilitated. In some embodiments, monitoring of an optical fiber may be performed via a detection system to detect changes in the optical fiber that are indicative of one or more events. During the monitoring, a monitor signal may be transmitted along the optical fiber via a light source, where the monitor signal is received by the detection system as light from the optical fiber. While the detection system continues to receive light from the optical fiber in connection with the transmitting of the monitor signal, a test disturbance event may be caused to occur at a predetermined location along the optical fiber via a device at the predetermined location. In response to a failure of the detection system to detect test-related changes in the optical fiber caused by the test disturbance event, a notification indicating an issue may be generated.

  • Patent number: 11735016
Abstract: In an optical fiber monitoring system which detects physical disturbance or other parameters such as temperature or strain of a fiber where a monitor signal is transmitted along the optical fiber and analyzed to detect changes which are indicative of an event, a method is provided for periodically checking proper operation of the optical fiber monitoring system. A fiber disturbance actuator periodically causes a pattern of disturbances of a portion of the fiber at a predetermined location thereon where the disturbance is characteristic of the event to be monitored. The monitor signal is analyzed to detect the pattern of changes and in the event that expected changes are not detected, a warning is issued that the intrusion detection system is not properly operating.

  • Publication number: 20230183307
Abstract: The present invention is a DNA expression vector comprising: a toxP: a mutant toxO that blocks Fe-mediated regulation of gene expression; and a DNA sequence encoding a protein, wherein the toxP and the mutant toxO regulate expression of the DNA segment encoding the protein. It is preferred that DNA expression vectors of the present invention include DNA sequences encoding a signal peptide so that a protein expressed is attached to the signal peptide prior to processing. Novel proteins are produced off of the DNA expression vector of the present invention.

Abstract: Methods and systems for determining a radar compatible coating are provided. In one example, the method includes obtaining a reflectance measurement of a target coating to characterize a color of the target coating. One or more candidate formulas are generated to determine color matching to the color of the target coating. A corresponding color and a corresponding radar property for each of the one or more candidate formulations is predicted. A radar compatible coating composition that is the same or substantially similar in appearance to the target coating is generated. Generating the radar compatible coating composition is based at least in part on the corresponding color and the corresponding radar property for one of the one or more candidate formulations.

  • Publication number: 20230111808
Abstract: A system and method for detecting multiple incidents in a set of flow meter units attached to a set of water consuming units. A plurality of uniquely identified flow meter units are operatively connected to a central control unit. The control unit is programmable to send alerts based on leaking incident status of particular flow meter units so that a responder may receive the alert and timely address the alert. The central control receives and stores data from the multiple flow meter units, including volumetric flow, time, and status and location of each alert. A method of detecting leaking in a building having multiple separate units, each unit having a unit water supply, includes placing a specially configured controller having a flow meter and automatic shut-off valve in each unit of the building. Leak sensors are positioned in water-leak risk areas wherein the controller communicates with both the flow meter and the sensors. A communication is established in between the controller and the sensors.

  • Publication number: 20230076451
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for marking an object on an aligner. The aligner surface is modeled. The method includes calculating a normal for each tile in a tessellated surface and disqualifying a tile from being selected. For tiles not disqualified, a patch is identified that produces a markable area. The method includes selecting an object to be marked, calculating a location of the object in the markable area, and providing the location of the object to a marking device. Disqualifying includes comparing an angle between a normal and an orientation of the beam to an origin of the calculated normal on each tile. Disqualifying includes disqualifying the at least one tile when the angle is outside of a range of ?90° to +90°. Identifying the patch includes separating the patch into at least two smaller patches, and one of the two smaller patches of tiles is the markable area.
