  • Publication number: 20210154815
Abstract: A tool for removal of a spring clip from a nut plate assembly includes an inner sleeve having a first cleat configured to engage a first end of a spring clip and an outer sleeve having a second cleat configured to engage a second end of the spring clip, the outer sleeve being rotatably disposed around a portion of the inner sleeve. The tool includes first and second grip tabs respectively extending radially from a longitudinally extending central axis of the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve. Movement of the first grip tab and the second grip tab towards each other rotates the inner sleeve relative to the outer sleeve, and causes the first cleat and the second cleat to rotate towards each other to engage the first and second ends of the spring clip and to enable the spring clip to be removed from an assembled nut plate.

  • Patent number: 10988512
Abstract: The present invention is a DNA expression vector comprising: a toxP; a mutant toxO that blocks Fe-mediated regulation of gene expression; and a DNA sequence encoding a protein, wherein the toxP and the mutant toxO regulate expression of the DNA segment encoding the protein. It is preferred that DNA expression vectors of the present invention include DNA sequences encoding a signal peptide so that a protein expressed is attached to the signal peptide prior to processing. Novel proteins are produced off of the DNA expression vector of the present invention.

  • Publication number: 20210055162
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to apparatus for and methods of detecting light utilizing the spin Seebeck effect (SSE). In an embodiment, a method for detecting broadband light is provided. The method includes generating a SSE in a device by illuminating the device with light, the device comprising a bilayer structure disposed over a substrate, the bilayer structure comprising a non-magnetic metal layer and a magnetic insulator layer. The method further includes measuring the SSE based on a field modulation method, determining, based on the measuring, an optically-created thermal gradient of the device, and detecting a wavelength range of the light. Apparatus for detecting broadband light are also described.

  • Patent number: 10922759
Abstract: A computer-implement method may bundle insurance and financial products, and visually depict a current status for an application for each product within the bundle, such as applications related auto, home, life, or renters insurance, and/or vehicle loans. In one aspect, the method may determine a standard status icon or message for each product. A data server may receive a customer identification and selection of a first product offered, and determine a context of an application for the first product, wherein the context represents a state of progress of the application for the first product, and determine a standard status of the application corresponding to the context. The status is selected from a group of statuses standardized across two or more product lines sold by the company. The data server may further generate a status message including the status of the application and transmit the status message to a client device.

Abstract: A system for detecting an intrusion of at least one of a monitoring fiber and a detector comprises a sensor having a closure monitor and an intrusion monitor, the closure monitor including a signal generator and at least one detector attached to the monitoring fiber. The signal generator transmits signal light such that the monitoring fiber receives the transmitted signal light and reflects a portion of the signal light via the at least one detector to the closure monitor and transmits a non-reflected portion of the signal light. The intrusion monitor receives the transmitted non-reflected portion of the signal light, and monitors the non-reflected portion of the signal light to detect transient changes in the non-reflected portion of the signal light indicative of at least one of a vibration, a motion and a handling of at least one of the monitoring fiber and the at least one detector.

  • Patent number: 10913829
Abstract: In some aspects, the disclosure relates to processes involving a two-component resin system to provide a composite matrix binder. The first component may be a liquid reactive diluent, like an epoxidized vegetable oil, and the second component may be a solid, powdered polymer component, like a carboxylic functional acrylic or polyester, that may react with the liquid component. The liquid component may wet and coat the filler materials, while the powdered resin may soften/melt at higher temperatures below its threshold reactive temperature, thus allowing it to flow, diffuse and mix with the liquid component. This facilities processing and allows use of higher molecular weight resins and/or a higher Tg polymers without solvent use. When used in stone composite formulations with fillers like quartz and/or titanium dioxide, example resulting products have high hardness, very low water absorption, and high mechanical strength along with stain, chemical, and heat resistance.

  • Publication number: 20200297457
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for marking an object on an aligner. The aligner surface is modeled. The method includes calculating a normal for each tile in a tessellated surface and disqualifying a tile from being selected. For tiles not disqualified, a patch is identified that produces a markable area. The method includes selecting an object to be marked, calculating a location of the object in the markable area, and providing the location of the object to a marking device. Disqualifying includes comparing an angle between a normal and an orientation of the beam to an origin of the calculated normal on each tile. Disqualifying includes disqualifying the at least one tile when the angle is outside of a range of ?90° to +90°. Identifying the patch includes separating the patch into at least two smaller patches, and one of the two smaller patches of tiles is the markable area.

  • Publication number: 20200242571
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to enhanced check processing systems with improved check validation features and enhanced information security. A computing platform may determine whether a correlation between source data and metadata associated with a check exceeds a predetermined correlation threshold. Based on determining that the correlation does not exceed the predetermined correlation threshold, the computing platform may direct an OCR computing system to perform character recognition on the check. Then, the computing platform may determine whether a discrepancy between the metadata and an OCR output from the OCR computing system exceeds a predetermined resolution threshold. In response to determining that the discrepancy between the OCR output and the metadata does not exceed the predetermined resolution threshold, the computing platform may update stored records associated with the check.
