  • Publication number: 20190017768
Abstract: A conduit (5) with a bullet passage (13, 17) extends forward from a gun muzzle (7). Inner and outer concentric chambers (25, 29) surround the conduit and a forward portion of the barrel (3). A gas path (P2, P3, P4) is provided through sides of the conduit into the inner chamber, thence to the outer chamber, and then exits to the atmosphere at the front of the outer chamber. Each chamber has longitudinal lines of sight between front and back sound reflectors (R1-R2, R3-R4), and no longitudinal line of sight from the back reflector (R2, R4) to the atmosphere. The gas path through the suppressor is at least 6 times less flow-restrictive than the gas path through the bullet exit (17) or back into the barrel bore (4), minimizing backpressure. The gas path (P3) between the inner and outer chambers is through apertures (33) limited to a lengthwise middle portion of an inner shell (21) that divides the chambers (25, 29).

  • Patent number: 10179291
Abstract: Examples described herein provide various devices that enable users to participate in a session. The examples allow a user that is unable to hear, or that is incapable of hearing, to participate in an in-session voice chat by receiving text messages that have been converted from speech to text (e.g., transcribed messages). The user enables a speech-to-text conversion feature on his or her own device. Based on the enabled feature, a notification can be sent to other devices participating in the session. Based on the notification, the other devices are tasked with capturing utterances and sending corresponding speech data to a speech-to-text conversion device so that voice communications can be converted to text messages. Subsequent to conversion, the text messages can be displayed in a chat interface presented as part of the displayed content for the session.

  • Publication number: 20180333270
Abstract: A spinal implant which is configured to be deployed between adjacent vertebral bodies. The implant has at least one fixation element with a retracted configuration to facilitate deployment of the implant and an extended configuration so as to engage a surface of an adjacent vertebral body and secure the implant between two vertebral bodies. Preferably, the implant is expandable and has a minimal dimension in its unexpanded state that is smaller than the dimensions of the neuroforamen through which it must pass to be deployed within the intervertebral space. Once within the space between vertebral bodies, the implant can be expanded so as to engage the endplates of the adjacent vertebrae to effectively distract the anterior disc space, stabilize the motion segments and eliminate pathologic spine motion. Angular deformities can be corrected, and natural curvatures restored and maintained.

  • Patent number: 10115160
Abstract: A system for dynamic currency conversion is provided. The system includes a bank identifier system determining whether currency conversion is available for a card-issuing bank of a presented card, such as by comparing a bank identifier from the card with a list or table of participating banks. An exchange rate system determines whether an exchange rate has expired, such as an exchange rate associated with the foreign currency of the card-issuing bank. The card holder is presented with an option for selecting a foreign currency transaction after it is determined that currency conversion is available for the card-issuing bank and that the exchange rate has not expired, such that the card holder does not need to see such information unless foreign currency processing is available.
