  • Publication number: 20030217991
Abstract: An electrode pattern is used to apply preheating and final heating electric current to a workpiece whose smaller regions are bridged, or otherwise controlled as to the temperature so that for the final heating, all parts of the workpiece have substantially the same temperature and hence substantially the same electrical conductivity.

  • Publication number: 20030189027
Abstract: A metallic component is made by heating with subsequent hardening by rapid cooling. In the component unhardened regions remain, in that the component is electrically resistant heated and defined regions, either by partial resistance heating of the other regions, by overbridging or by cooling are excluded from heating above the austenitization temperature so that after a subsequent hardening process, they will remain with a ductile structure.

  • Publication number: 20030010079
Abstract: Apparatus for sealing an end portion of a tubular workpiece in a mold for internal high-pressure forming of the workpiece, includes a housing having a pressure compartment in fluid communication with an interior space of the workpiece. Hydraulic high-pressure fluid is supplied from a pressure source to the pressure compartment by a pressure application unit which further includes a pressure piston received in the pressure compartment and defined in the pressure compartment by an effective piston area which is greater than a cross sectional area in the interior space of an end portion of the workpiece. At least indirectly connected to the pressure piston is a sealing mandrel which interacts with the end portion of the tubular workpiece. A check valve is disposed in a passageway between the pressure compartment and the interior space of the workpiece for blocking in a direction to the pressure compartment.

  • Patent number: 6387508
Abstract: An electrically insulating composition for bonding to metal and method for applying the composition in sheet form. The insulating composition comprises a polyolefin polymer adapted for elevated temperature crosslinking and a co-bonding agent mixed with the polyolefin polymer in an amount up to about 60 parts of tile co-bonding agent to 100 parts of the polyolefin polymer. Preferably, the insulating composition cures in contact with metal pre-heated to elevated temperatures in a range from about 140° C. to about 190° C. to provide a lap-shear bond strength between the electrically insulating composition and a metal substrate of from about 3.3 MPa to about 12 MPa.

  • Patent number: 5743338
Abstract: A conservation tillage implement including a shredder with a transverse rotor hood structure having one-piece end panels which are welded to each side of the hood and project rearwardly of the hood to receive a toolbar which extends the width of the implement. The center of the toolbar is connected to a pair of parallel upright central panels which are connected to the central rear portion of the hood. A reinforcing member extends from the central rear portion between the central panels around the top of the hood adjacent the hitch structure which connects the implement to a tractor. The end and central panels and reinforced hood structure define a compact, unobtrusive frame which is sturdy enough to pull heavy drawbar loads and resist heavy torque loading. In one embodiment of the invention, the toolbar supports a plurality of transversely adjustable deep tillage tools such as rippers, and disk structure is connected by adjustable bracket structure to the toolbar behind the rippers.

  • Patent number: 5714715
Abstract: A cable end seal for a multiple-conductor oil filled cable includes an inner sealing boot adjacent the cable and filled with an oil restraint material for the temporary restraint of cable oil and an outer boot and cylindrical mold filled with hardenable material for the permanent containment of the cable oil. The inner boot and oil restraint material prevents contact between the oil and the material at least until the material has hardened.

  • Patent number: 5010585
Abstract: A digital Non Return to Zero (NRZ) and Frequency Modulated (FM) radio transmitter intended but not unique to, for the transmission of Digital, Tone Only or Tone and Voice paging messages is described. This transmitter is built on the concept that the separate signals required are individually constructed, and then combined together into the actual RF output. This provides for optimized circuitry for each particular function for the highest performance. There is no reason for compromising the performance of a particular function, and the implementation of the modulation and synthesis with direct digital technology provides extremely linear and fast radio performance at no extra cost. Maintenance is also simplified since the individual blocks can be troubleshooted and repaired (or replaced) requiring a minimum of down time.
