  • Patent number: 8819206
Abstract: An article including at least one computer readable medium storing a network management application comprising computer executable code that upon execution by one or more processors causes the one or more processors to receive and execute the computer executable code of the network management application to store an identifier indicative of a candidate service in a database, receive the information indicative of managed entities from the one or more input devices, transform the data indicative of the managed entities into neutral data structure represented by graphs, vertices and edges, store these neutral data structures in the database and determine whether the telecommunication network is configured to execute the candidate service by applying predetermined rules on these neutral data structures.

  • Patent number: 8805877
Abstract: A method, device, and computer program product are provided for regular expression learning is provided. An initial regular expression may be received from a user. The initial regular expression is executed over a database. Positive matches and negative matches are labeled. The initial regular expression and the labeled positive and negative matches are input in a transformation process. The transformation process may iteratively execute character class restrictions, quantifier restrictions, negative lookaheads on the initial regular expression to transform the initial regular expression into the pool of candidate regular expressions. The transformation process may execute, one at a time, the character class restrictions, quantifier restrictions, the negative lookaheads. A candidate regular expression is selected from the pool of candidate regular expressions, where the selected candidate regular expression has a best F-Measure out of the pool of candidate regular expressions.

  • Publication number: 20140222893
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for real-time communication signaling between HTML5 endpoints and the IMS Core of a telecommunication network. The method adapts complex signaling on the server-side into simple operations towards the Web. In an embodiment the system includes a network-side controller communicating over an Internet domain protocol with a client-side controller. The client-side controller provides a JavaScript API to encapsulate the signaling layer. The network-side controller includes session border control functionality, terminates Internet domain communications with the client-side, parses, and normalizes the Internet domain communications into an internal protocol suitable for communication with telecommunications network systems. The system thereby provides a dedicated signaling channel with session border control for applications on the client to interact with telecommunications network services.

  • Patent number: 8788601
Abstract: Improved techniques of fulfilling a request to perform a task involve a master computer placing the request in a first queue and a copy of the request in a second queue, the second queue being frequently accessed by a set of worker computers which rapidly scans the second queue for requests to fulfill. If, during the scanning, a worker computer determines that it has a capability to fulfill the request, the worker computer removes the copy of the request from the second queue. Furthermore, if the copy of the request remains in the second queue after a brief time period, it is clear that the set of worker computers is unable to perform the task. In this case, the master computer takes a remedial action such as notifying a client computer which sent the request that the worker computers, as currently configured, are unable to perform the task.

  • Patent number: 8753856
Abstract: The present invention provides a stable and viable biocatalyst with high activity and operational stability and method of immobilization thereof. The immobilization process is based on the principle of entrapment of partially purified enzyme precipitate which is simultaneously aggregated by cross linking agent like glutaraldehyde and further entrapped in a combination of natural polymer like gelatin and synthetic polymer like polyvinyl alcohol with effective gelation under mild conditions of temperature and pH, resulting in a stable biocatalyst. The enzymes immobilized by the above process include Penicillin acylase from rE. coli RE III (pKA18), Novel Penicillin acylase from Achromobacter sp (CCM4834) expressed in rE. coli BL21 (pK1P1) CCM 7394 and rE. coli RE III (pKX1P1).

  • Patent number: 8719780
Abstract: An application server is described for development of telecommunications-based software applications. The application server provides a protocol-neutral programming model for application developers. Rather than having to account for specific protocol entry points into the server, all interactions in the server are abstracted as asynchronous events through the event broker layer. State management and concurrency are implemented as an actor-based model, where each actor owns its own segment of state and other actors wishing to update that state send asynchronous events to the owner. Thus, any communication in the various protocols can be expressed as an asynchronous event passed to, from and between the actors, who are each responsible for maintaining their own segment of state locally.

  • Publication number: 20140060054
Abstract: Heat flow from a steam seal header could be used in a stage, such as a low pressure stage, of a steam turbine. However, the dump steam temperature from the steam seal header can be too high requiring removal of excess heat, typically through attemperation, before the dump steam is provided to the low pressure stage. Attemperation poses reliability and life issues and lowers efficiency. To address such short comings, one or more heat pumps are used to transfer heat from the dump steam to the fluid entering a boiler. This allows the dump steam temperature to be within acceptable limits, and at the same time, increase the temperature of the fluid so that the steam cycle performance is enhanced. Preferably, solid-state heat pumps are used as they are reliable, silent and can be precisely controlled.

  • Patent number: 8605667
Abstract: A plurality of service facades are used to expose the capabilities of an underlying telecommunications network in different ways. Each service façade provides a different interface to access a set of functions of the telecom network. The service facades can be accessed by client applications residing externally with respect to the telecom network. The client applications can invoke a particular service façade to send a message to the network and the invocations can be translated to the native protocols used by the resources in the telecom network to carry out the request. The service facades can be deployed on a service access gateway to the telecom network and can include a simple object access protocol (SOAP) façade, a representational state transfer (REST) façade, a service oriented architecture (SOA) façade and a native façade.

  • Patent number: 8553520
Abstract: A system and method for performing echo suppression on a server in browser-based online audio conferences without downloading or installing software on a participant's computing device is disclosed. Streams of audio communication data from the participants in an audio conference are received at the server. An echo suppression application determines the first party that speaks by analyzing the streams to locate speech data, and assigns that party as the “owner” of the audio channel. The speech data is sent to the other participants in the conference. The application then determines whether newly received audio from the owner of the channel is new speech; if so, then the party remains the owner of the channel, and the new speech data is also sent to the other parties in the conference. The channel is surrendered if no new speech is received from the owner in a defined period, and the next party that speaks becomes the new owner of the channel. The other audio data from the participants is replaced by silence.

  • Patent number: 8548979
Abstract: A method, system, and article are provided for evaluating regular expressions over large data collections. A general purpose index is built to handle complex regular expressions at the character level. Characters, character classes, and associated metadata are identified and stored in an index of a collection of documents. Given a regular expression, a query is generated based on the contents of the index. This query is executed over the index to identify a set of documents in the collection of documents over which the regular expression can be evaluated. Based upon the query execution, the identified set of documents is returned for evaluation by the regular expression responsive to execution of the query over the index.

  • Patent number: 8447291
Abstract: In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) determines that a client application has entered a period of transmission inactivity whereby the UE will not be required to transmit data on behalf of the client application. The UE selectively transmits a transmission inactivity notification to an access network (AN) to notify the AN of the transmission inactivity period. The AN receives the transmission inactivity notification and determines to transition the UE from a first state to a second state based at least in part on the received transmission inactivity notification, the second state associated with lower-power consumption of the UE than the first state. The AN sends instructions to the UE to facilitate the transition of the UE from the first state to the second state. In another embodiment, the AN can send instructions to the UE to prohibit the UE from sending transmission inactivity notifications.
