Abstract: Methods and apparatus for managing subscriber profiles are described herein. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving, from a requester, a request to determine an operation to be performed on a data packet. The method also includes determining profile identifiers associated with the requester, wherein the profile identifiers include, a first-level profile identifier associated with a lower-level profile identifier that defines the operation. The method also includes determining, based on the profile identifiers, that the operation should be performed on the data packet and transmitting an indication of the operation to the requestor, wherein the requestor performs the operation on the data packet.

Abstract: An auxiliary climate control system may include a plurality of evaporators arranged in series. The auxiliary climate control system may comprise a first evaporator coupled to a first compressor and a first condenser, a second evaporator coupled to a second compressor and a second condenser, and a blower configured to move air past the first evaporator and the second evaporator. The first compressor may be configured to operate when a vehicle engine is running and the second compressor is configured to operate on power from a source independent of the running engine such that the second compressor may operate when the engine is not running.

A method for processing incoming email messages comprised the steps of scanning incoming email messages to obtain an address of a sender of each incoming email message and to determine whether the email message is spam, for each email message that is determined to be spam, incrementing a count of email messages that are spam for a sender of the email message, determining that a count of email messages that are spam for a sender of an email message has exceeded a threshold, and thereafter, discarding all incoming email messages from the sender for which the count of email messages that are spam for a sender of an email message has exceeded a threshold without scanning the email messages to determine whether they are spam.

Abstract: Systems and methods for intercepting and redirecting requests are provided. More particularly, certain information is identified in a packet and the packet is redirected to a specified server. The information that is redirected may be bound for a server in a network that a mobile node is currently visiting, and it is advantageous to fulfill the request in another network instead. The request is redirected to the other network; however, the response to the request may be modified changing the source address and other information so that the response appears to have originated from the server in the visited network to which the mobile node sent the request. Load balancing may also be incorporated when redirecting requests from one or more mobile nodes.

Abstract: A method of planar etching of dissimilar materials with a Focused Ion Beam (FIB) system such as the OptiFIB manufactured by Credence Systems. The method includes adjusting the selectivity between the two materials, which varies when the ratio of the assisting chemistry pressure to the ion dose rate changes. This method can be used in such applications as FIB circuit edit, failure analysis, and cross sectioning.

Abstract: Systems and methods in accordance with embodiments are provided for the replication of data from virtual logical units to remote virtual logical units. Change logs can be provided at a primary storage switch including a primary VLU to indicate changes made to the primary VLU between replications. The change log can also be used to resynchronize a member split from the primary VLU during a replication operation. Members can be split from the primary VLU and used in a split virtual logical unit at the primary VLU for replication. The remaining member(s) of the primary VLU can be used to maintain the primary VLU online for host devices during the replication operation. A remote VLU at a remote storage switch can be exported as a physical logical unit to the primary storage switch where it is provisioned for a member of a replication VLU at the primary storage switch.

Abstract: Low power double heterojunction bipolar transistors with low parasitics, and methods for making the same is presented. A transistor is fabricated such that the collector region underneath a base contact area is deactivated. This results in a drastic reduction of the base-collector parasitic capacitance, Cbc. An embodiment of the present invention provides a transistor architecture for which the base contact area can be decoupled from the collector and hence allows for dramatic reduction in the parasitics of transistors.

Abstract: The invention relates to novel compositions comprising of an extract of the plant Euphorbia prostrata, particularly with pharmaceutically acceptable carrier(s)/base(s), optionally with additional therapeutic agent(s) useful for the treatment of anorectal disease and colonic diseases such as hemorrhoids, fissures, cracks, fistulas, abscesses, inflammatory bowel disease, and the like. The novel compositions possess properties to control inflammation, prevent capillary bleeding and fragility in mammalians, particularly human beings. Process for the preparation of such novel compositions comprising an extract of the plant Euphorbia prostrata and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier(s)/base(s) useful for the treatment of anorectal disease including hemorrhoids, and colonic diseases are also provided. The composition comprise of flavonoidal and phenolic constituents extracted from the plant Euphorbia prostrata that possess anti-inflammatory, analgesic, haemostatic and wound-healing properties.

Abstract: A plasma enhanced physical vapor deposition process deposits an amorphous carbon layer on an ion-implanted wafer for use in dynamic surface annealing of the wafer with an intense line beam of a laser wavelength. The deposition process is carried out at a wafer temperature below the dopant clustering threshold temperature, and includes introducing the wafer into a chamber having a carbon-containing target overlying the wafer, and furnishing a carrier gas into the chamber. The process further includes generating a wafer bias voltage and applying target source power to the carbon-containing target sufficient to produce ion bombardment of the carbon-containing target. The wafer bias voltage is set to a level at which the amorphous carbon layer that is deposited has a desired extinction coefficient at the laser wavelength.

Abstract: Systems and methods for supporting multiple wireless communication technologies within a cell are provided. A base station can transmit a second wireless communication technology in a smaller coverage than the coverage of the first wireless communication technology, thereby producing an underlay-overlay cell radiation pattern. Whether a mobile station communicates with the base station using the first or second wireless communication technology can be based on a comparison of signal quality measures for the mobile station, or any other performance metric with a fixed or dynamic threshold.

Abstract: Systems, architectures, and data structures are described which are used to manage distributed design chains, specifically for domains in which data reside in multiple applications and are linked through complex interrelationships. The design chains or design networks integrated by the invention may include multiple companies in multiple sites collaborating to design and develop a new product. The invention is intended to integrate seamlessly and transparently with existing, diverse legacy applications, which include inter-linked data relevant to the design, thereby addressing the needs identified above.

Abstract: A command from an application is received to access a data structure associated with one or more virtual addresses mapped to main memory. A first subset of the virtual addresses for the data structure having constituent addresses that are mapped to the symmetric memory components and a second subset of the virtual addresses for the data structure having constituent addresses that are mapped to the asymmetric memory components are identified. Data associated with the virtual address from the first physical addresses and data associated with the virtual addresses from the second physical addresses are accessed. The data associated with the symmetric and asymmetric memory components is accessed by the application without providing the application with an indication of whether the data is accessed within the symmetric memory component or the asymmetric memory component.

Abstract: A system and method for providing multiprocessors with private memory are described. In one embodiment, a first chip couples to a plurality of processor chips. In one embodiment, the first chip includes memory management circuitry and system coherency circuitry. In one embodiment, the memory management circuitry assigns segments of memory to be system memory sections or private memory sections within a segment. In one embodiment, the system coherency circuitry maintains coherence of entries in the system memory.

Abstract: Main memory is managed by receiving a command from an application to read data associated with a virtual address that is mapped to the main memory. A memory controller determines that the virtual address is mapped to one of the symmetric memory components of the main memory, and accesses memory use characteristics indicating how the data associated with the virtual address has been accessed, The memory controller determines that the data associated with the virtual address has access characteristics suited to an asymmetric memory component of the main memory and loads the data associated with the virtual address to the asymmetric memory component of the main memory. After the loading and using the memory management unit, a command is received from the application to read the data associated with the virtual address, and the data associated with the virtual address is retrieved from the asymmetric memory component.
