  • Patent number: 7386643
Abstract: A forwarding device compares a first address from a first coherent input/output (I/O) transaction with an address from at least one processor-issued transaction to determine if an address conflict exists. The forwarding device completes a first processor-issued transaction of the at least one processor-issued transaction if the address conflict exists and rejects the first coherent I/O transaction. The forwarding device holds remaining processor transactions of the at least one processor-issued transaction that have an address conflict with the first address of the first coherent I/O transaction. The forwarding device transmits the first coherent I/O transaction to an external I/O device, waits for the first coherent I/O transaction to return from the external I/O device, and completes the first coherent I/O transaction. The forwarding device releases the remaining processor transactions once the first coherent I/O transaction has been completed.

  • Patent number: 7385947
Abstract: An access-point node to a first network cell of a radio access network, to an access-center node and to a radio access network enable local service providers in rural areas to provide mobile telecommunication at low cost for end users. The access-point node of the invention is configured to establish, maintain, and release a local user-data radio channel, which consists of a first local channel section having as endpoints a first terminal device located in the network cell and the access-point node, and of a second local channel section having as endpoints the access-point node and a second terminal device located in the network cell. The access-point node is configured to exchange packetized user data and control data with an assigned superordinate access-center node for establishing, maintaining and releasing communication between the first terminal device and a third terminal device located outside the network cell. Link cost between the radio access network and the core network may be strongly reduced.

  • Publication number: 20080133675
Abstract: A real-time communication system receives rich application content from a user. The real-time communication system detects that the user wants to send a message containing the application content, and determines the application that produced the content. For example, if the content was pasted using the operating system clipboard, then the pasted content may contain information indicating the application that produced it. Then the real-time communication system creates a real-time communication containing the application content and identifying the application that produced the content. For example, the real-time communication may be structured as XML that contains the application content and an application identifier. Finally, the real-time communication system sends the real-time communication to the receiving participant.

  • Publication number: 20080134237
Abstract: A TV-set is equipped with HDMI and USB connections that allow it to display and run audio-video content from a variety of conventional consumer devices. The TV-set is further equipped to provide a secure HDMI-USB interface that will allow the transfer of licensed high definition content and Internet subscriber services. Such secure HDMI-USB interface also enables a selection of proprietary application modules to be attached. Downloadable user interface templates, much like XML style sheets, are rendered to a user interface displayed on the screen. These are associated with corresponding thumbnails and URI's that allow a user to surf through lists and catalogs of materials, and then to play them in the appropriate formats and provide the machine with a customized controller. A remote commander is simplified, yet expanded to control all the attached devices through interactions with the user interface.

  • Patent number: 7383239
Abstract: A method and system for fusing a collection of classifiers used for an automated insurance underwriting system and/or its quality assurance is described. Specifically, the outputs of a collection of classifiers are fused. The fusion of the data will typically result in some amount of consensus and some amount of conflict among the classifiers. The consensus will be measured and used to estimate a degree of confidence in the fused decisions. Based on the decision and degree of confidence of the fusion and the decision and degree of confidence of the production decision engine, a comparison module may then be used to identify cases for audit, cases for augmenting the training/test sets for re-tuning production decision engine, cases for review, or may simply trigger a record of its occurrence for tracking purposes. The fusion can compensate for the potential correlation among the classifiers.
