  • Patent number: 10607216
Abstract: System and methods of contactless card authentication systems include a contactless card and a client device having an application, a processor, and a card reader. An application on the client device receives a transaction lockdown request, sends a request to the server to begin to allow a transaction approval within a time period, receives the transaction approval via an authentication tap from the contactless card, sends the transaction approval to the server; and receive an allowance or disallowance response from the server.

  • Patent number: 10588175
Abstract: A device may include a processor, a wireless transceiver in communication with the processor, and a non-transitory memory. The memory may store instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform processing. The processing may include detecting, using the wireless transceiver, at least one external device in communication range of the device. The processing may include receiving, by the wireless transceiver, at least one external device identifier from the at least one external device. The processing may include verifying the at least one external device identifier. The verifying may include locating the at least one device identifier in a blockchain record of a transaction involving the at least one external device. The processing may include performing at least one transaction requiring the verified at least one external device identifier.

  • Publication number: 20200019962
Abstract: A multi-function transaction card may determine whether to submit a first payment as a passive payment device or to receive a second payment from another transaction card. The multi-function transaction card may have a length and a width that are in accordance with a standard for transaction cards. The multi-function transaction card may selectively perform a payment transaction based on determining whether to submit the first payment or to receive the second payment. The payment transaction may be performed by providing first card data to a transaction terminal for processing when the multi-function transaction card is to submit the first payment. The payment transaction may be performed by receiving second card data from the other transaction card, and processing the second card data via online data authentication, or via offline data authentication, when the multi-function transaction card is to receive the second payment.

  • Patent number: 10535062
Abstract: Systems, methods, and articles of manufacture to securely share data stored in a blockchain. A contactless card may receive a request to provide a data element from a device. An applet of the contactless card may encrypt the data element and a wallet address. The applet may generate a signature for the request, and transmit, to a mobile device, the signature and the encrypted data. The mobile device may transmit, to a verification service, the signature and encrypted data. The verification service may verify the signature based on a public key. A node in a blockchain may generate a block in the blockchain, the block comprising indications of the verification of the signature, the requested data element, and the wallet address. An encrypted data element corresponding to the data element may be decrypted using a public key. The device may receive the decrypted data element from the wallet address.

  • Patent number: 10523708
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed that leverage multi-factor authentication features of a service provider and intelligent call routing to increase security and efficiency at a customer call center. Pre-authentication of customer support requests reduces the potential for misappropriation of sensitive customer data during call handling. A contactless card uniquely associated with a client may provide a second factor of authentication via a backchannel to reduce the potential for malicious third-party impersonation of the client prior to transfer of the call to the customer call center. Pre-authorized customer support calls may be intelligently and efficiently routed directly to call center agents, without incurring further delay. During call handling, call center agents may initiate further client authentication processes, including contactless card authentication requests, over one or more different communication channels for authorizing access to sensitive information or to allay suspicion.

  • Patent number: 10516447
Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to dynamically and temporarily adjusting power to an NFC reader of a computing device from a first power level to a second power level based on a feedback mechanism between a contactless card and the computing device. The contactless card may provide a message containing a checksum. The computing device may receive the message and calculate a checksum based on the received message. By comparing these two checksums, it may be determined whether the entire message has been correctly received. If not, the power to the NFC reader may be temporarily increased to allow better communication between the contactless card and the computing device.

  • Patent number: 10505738
Abstract: Example embodiments of systems and methods for data transmission between transmitting and receiving devices are provided. These systems and methods may provide for the secure transmission of sensitive information, such as personally-identifiable information. In some examples, the sensitive information may be requested and securely shared when cryptographically signed by the user, and the user may control the access of viewers to the personally identifiable information or end users.

  • Patent number: 10498401
Abstract: A position alignment system facilitates positioning of a contactless card in a ‘sweet spot’ in a target volume relative to a contactless card reading device. Alignment logic uses information captured from available imaging devices such as infrared proximity detectors, cameras, infrared sensors, dot projectors, and the like to guide the card to a target location. The captured image information is processed to identify a card position, trajectory and predicted location using one or both of a machine learning model and/or a Simultaneous Localization and Mapping logic. Trajectory adjustment and prompt identification may be intelligently controlled and customized using machine-learning techniques to customize guidance based on the preference and/or historical behavior of the user. As a result, the speed and accuracy of contactless card alignment is improved and received NFC signal strength is maximized, thereby reducing the occurrence of dropped transactions.

  • Patent number: 10484532
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for training a machine-learning model to detect characteristics of fraudulent calls. The machine-learning model is trained using audio clips, voice recognition, call handler feedback and general public knowledge of commercial risks to detect and divert fraudulent calls, thereby alleviating the burdens otherwise placed on call center service representatives.
