  • Publication number: 20060106895
Abstract: A method of exchanging data between a database and distribution nodes in a multimode replication environment includes defining data stored in a database to be exchanged for replication and using database data having at least two subsets of data. The subsets are distinct and have no overlap. At least one subset is distributed to only one node. Other subsets may be distributed to other nodes. The node receiving the distinct, non-shared subset of database data is permitted to change the data based on a creation, modification, or deletion of elements in the data subset. The changed subset data is returned to the data base and the database stores the changed data without performing conflict checks or distribution list calculations as performed in prior art systems.

  • Publication number: 20060095481
Abstract: A method of removing metadata from a database in a multimode replication system includes establishing a metadata retention period for nodes in the system as well as associating changes with nodes on the system. The system responds to an expiration of the retention period for any one node by analyzing the associated changes and nodes and determining if the change affects data shared with other nodes. If the data is shared with other nodes then the expired retention period node metadata is removed from the system. If the expired metadata retention period node does not share the changes with other nodes, the metadata is not removed. This allows any unique changes to still be entered into the database without adversely affecting other nodes.

  • Publication number: 20050015436
Abstract: The present invention provides for facilitating synchronization in a data source/data destination environment using data replicas. When a plurality of destinations request synchronization with a source, a first destination selected for synchronization is processed such that differences between the first destination data and source data is determined and persisted in a partition update. After updating the first destination, the synchronization process continues only for those remaining destinations that will be affected by the partition change, as determined by the persisted data, and then as updated by the persisted data.

  • Patent number: 6836526
Abstract: A fractional-N frequency synthesizer has a modulus controller with multiple inputs that control an initial output frequency of the frequency synthesizer, an increment of variation of tuning of the frequency synthesizer, and a difference between two adjacent output frequency settings. The fractional frequency synthesizer includes a modulus controller, which controls the modulus factor for a multiple modulus frequency divider. The modulus controller has a modulus selection circuit that provides a modulus control signal to the modulus divider to select the modulus factor of the modulus divider as a function of a sum of one input factor and a product of a second input and the gain factor. Control signal is an overflow from a continuous summation of the second digital data word and a product of the first digital data word and the gain factor digital data word repetitively with itself.

  • Patent number: 6696857
Abstract: The present invention provides a circuit and a method for high speed prescaler circuits which utilize pull-down transistors in the critical feedback path. This invention contains a high speed CMOS dual modulus prescaler circuit made up of data or D-flip flops connected serially where the flip-flop positive output Q of stage N is connected to the D-input of the N+1 flip-flop stage. It is also made up of a pull-down field effect transistor. The invention has a clock input which has a frequency known as a circuit input frequency, Fin. The output of this prescaler circuit has an output frequency, Fout. The frequency division which results from this prescaler circuit is a divide by [2 to the power (n+2)] minus 1 if a mode signal equals 1 as opposed to a divide by [2 to the power (n+2)] counter, which results when the mode signal is low.
