  • Publication number: 20030159096
Abstract: A system for recovering from ground bounce during a boundary scan test is disclosed that includes operationally transitioning a Test Access Port controller from any of at least three undetermined controller states induced by the ground bounce to a determined controller state. The undetermined controller states may be selected from an UPDATE state, a RUN-TEST/IDLE state, a SELECT-DR-SCAN state, and a CAPTURE-DR state. The determined controller state can be the UPDATE-DR. Once in the determined controller state, the Test Access Port controller may also be operationally transitioned from an undetermined data state to a determined data state.

  • Publication number: 20030156182
Abstract: A method and apparatus for recording image information on a moving receiver media at a thermal print station features a ribbon cassette assembly that stores a thermal ribbon having dye, the thermal ribbon being supported as a supply role and take-up role on the ribbon cassette assembly, the ribbon cassette assembly including a wall structure defining a plenum chamber. Air under pressure is provided to the plenum chamber. An elongated thermal print head is positioned in engagement with the thermal ribbon; and recording elements on the thermal print head are directed along a main scan direction. The print head has associated therewith a heat sink that includes a series of parallel fins arranged along the length of the print head and the fins are oriented at least generally perpendicular to the main scan direction of printing. Cooling air flows from the wall structure, which structure extends in the direction of elongation of the print head.

  • Publication number: 20030156560
Abstract: A data network in which at least one switch is provided with the facility for estimating current network demands using a polygonal approximation to scaled cumulant generating function. The approximaton is iteratively refined in accordance with sampled data passing through the switch. • Publication number: 20030158618
Abstract: Control for a production line that queues work-in-process (WIP) prior to a re-entrant bottleneck processing node, such as a photolithography device in a semi-conductor fabrication line. For each WIP, a determination is made as to whether a cleared trajectory is available through all processing nodes subsequent to the bottleneck processing node and back to the re-entrant node or to exit of the production line. If a cleared trajectory is available, the subsequent processing nodes are reserved for the WIP. The WIP is then injected into the process flow, with the result that secondary bottlenecks at downstream processing nodes are largely avoided because the nodes have been pre-reserved. If a cleared trajectory for more than one WIP is available, selection of one WIP for injection into the workflow can be made based on a queuing or priority based selection process.

  • Publication number: 20030157922
Abstract: The method and apparatus for tracing the progress of a mobile station which has initiated an emergency call. Using the facilities of the Global Positioning System (GPS), the mobile station repeatedly reports its location to the Emergency Bureau, which thereby is able to track the movement of the mobile station. In one preferred embodiment, location measurements are taken more frequently if the mobile station is moving. Advantageously, this arrangement allows the progress of the mobile station originating the emergency call to be followed, thus helping the Police or Ambulance Services provided through the Emergency Bureau to locate the mobile station more accurately.

  • Publication number: 20030158018
Abstract: A leg press exercise machine that provides translational and rotational motion of the user support structure by translating the user support structure along two intersecting non-orthogonal linear paths. A front portion of the user support structure travels along an inclining linear path and a rear portion of the user support structure travels along a declining linear path. The translation of the user support structure along the inclining and declining linear paths results in the user support structure exhibiting a rational motion, defining an arcuate path.

  • Publication number: 20030154832
Abstract: A shaving aid delivery system for a shaving system includes a razor head having a reservoir for holding a shaving aid and a heating apparatus disposed adjacent the reservoir. The delivery system also includes a shaving strip disposed within the razor head, an actuator and an ejection port. The shaving strip is oriented to engage the skin of a user during a shaving stroke and the actuator electrically couples to the heating apparatus to cause volumetric expansion of the shaving aid when activated. The ejection port directs the shaving aid from the reservoir onto the shaving strip upon activation of the actuator.

  • Publication number: 20030154603
Abstract: A shaving aid delivery system for a shaving system includes a razor head having a resilient reservoir for holding a shaving aid and a piezoelectric ceramic disposed adjacent the resilient reservoir. The delivery system also includes a shaving strip disposed within the razor head, an actuator and an ejection port. The shaving strip is oriented to engage the skin of a user during a shaving stroke and the actuator electrically couples to the piezoelectric ceramic such that, upon activation, the actuator causes deformation of the piezoelectric ceramic which, in turn, deforms the resilient reservoir and forces the shaving aid from the reservoir through the ejection port. Alternatively, the actuator may include a shape memory alloy which, upon transformation between states, deforms the reservoir and forces the shaving aid from the reservoir through the ejection port.
