Abstract: The combination of a dust pan and a broom for cleaning surfaces without the need for a person to bend during use, including a dust pan having a receptacle for receiving and collecting debris, and a lifting strap extends over the receptacle. A broom is also provided having bristles and an upper section having a hook mounted thereon. In use, the hook is used to engage the strap to lift the dust pan having debris in it without the person having to bend their back or knees to lift up and lower the dust pan during use. The dust pan can be square or round or any other shape.

Abstract: A simulated payload apparatus (SPA) for testing in a flight motion system (FMS), which has a body for mounting in the FMS, and which simulates an actual payload during the FMS test. The SPA may include a plurality of adjustable weights that are mountable on and/or removable from the body to vary the mass and/or center of gravity of the SPA. The SPA may include an adjustable bracket for interfacing with a motion drive of the FMS, in which the bracket is positionable along the body to vary the moment of inertia of the SPA. The SPA may include an onboard electronic measurement device that is configured to measure a motion characteristic of the SPA and/or communicate information about the measured motion characteristic in real-time during the FMS test. The SPA may include a laser alignment for aligning the SPA relative to test equipment of the FMS.

Abstract: A system and method for dust mitigation in an environment with high amounts of debris is disclosed. The system may include an optical device disposed within an interior volume of an enclosure. A positive flow of clean air may be maintained into an air input aperture of the enclosure, around the optical device, over a lens of the optical device, and out a lens aperture of the enclosure. The system may be affixed to a piece of equipment, machine, or similar structure via a positionable or pivotable mount.

Abstract: A method for preventing transmission of malicious data may include receiving transaction data including at least one packet associated with a payment transaction; extracting at least one of network layer data or transport layer data from a header of the at least one packet; determining a first probability indicating that the at least one packet is in a first class based on the at least one of the network layer data or the transport layer data using a classifier. The method may also include determining a second probability indicating that the at least one packet is in a second class based on the at least one of the network layer data or the transport layer data using the classifier; and blocking the at least one packet. Abstract: A method comprises removing a portion of molding compound from a side of a package structure by a laser ablation process to create an opening that exposes a portion of a conductive clip, depositing solder paste on the exposed portion of the conductive clip, and reflowing the solder paste. The laser ablation process in one example is a pulsed laser ablation process that includes raster scanning a laser along a portion of the side of the package structure to create the opening. Depositing the solder paste in one example includes performing a dispense process or a screening process that deposits solder paste in the opening onto the exposed portion of the conductive clip.

Abstract: A projectile targeting solution is provided that can monitor, log and assess projectile performance of a launcher device or a projectile launched from the launcher device. The projectile targeting solution includes a method, system and computer program for monitoring, logging or assessing performance of the launcher device or projectile and adjusting the launcher device for optimal trajectory to a target based on a projectile performance assessment for the launcher device or the projectile.

Abstract: Systems and methods for sanitizing pool and spa water are provided. An electrolytic chlorinator is provided which includes a combined flow, temperature, and salt concentration sensor. The electrolytic chlorinator could include an acid tank for in-situ cleaning of the electrolytic chlorinator or acidification of pool/spa water where needed. A delayed polarity reversal technique is provided for de-scaling and managing passivation of the blades of an electrolytic chlorinator. The electrolytic chlorinator could include a sacrificial anode for protecting components of the chlorinator as well as other pool/spa components. The electrolytic chlorinator could include an integral, electrically-controlled acid generator, a brine tank for periodically superchlorinating and/or shocking pool/spa water, and/or a plurality of chemical tanks/feeds for periodically injecting chemicals into the chlorinator.

Abstract: A blade positioning system and method are provided to dynamically measure blade position during flight of a rotorcraft. In the context of a method, a blade of the rotorcraft is repeatedly illuminated by a light source during flight of the rotorcraft while the blade is rotating. The method also includes detecting radiation scattered from the blade in response to illumination of the blade. The method further includes determining at least one of a blade pitch angle, a blade flap angle, a blade leading position or a blade lagging position based upon the radiation that is scattered from the blade and detected.

Abstract: An emergency vehicle notification system includes an emergency vehicle sensor having functionality for detecting a siren or strobe light emanating from an emergency vehicle. A driver notification unit is positioned within the vehicle and provides an audiovisual indication to a driver that an emergency vehicle is approaching. Both the sensor and the notification unit are linked to a controller having a vehicle communication unit. The vehicle communication unit communicates directly with an electronic component of the automobile to allow the controller to issue a warning over the automobiles radio or visual display system.

Abstract: Optical or light diffusers (or, simply, “diffusers”) designed and manufactured to include numerous facets arranged in cells or sets in which the planar faces or outward-facing surfaces have orientations and transmission angles (as may be defined by direction cosines of normal) to redirect received light to a region or portion of a predefined light distribution. A method of designing or defining the facets of the diffuser is also provides as are methods of manufacturing the diffusers and apparatus or products that include the new diffusers (such as microdisplays and lighting components). The diffusers are optically designed to produce a user-specified distribution of light. The diffusers can be engineered through the configuration of the facets on its front or outer surface (light transmission surface) to produce nearly any type of light distribution or shape, and the diffuser design facilitates their manufacture using extrusion processes as well as other fabrication techniques.
