  • Publication number: 20030180543
Abstract: Solutions comprising a sodium silicate waterglass having a modulus of less than 3 and at least 8% by weight of an organic polyhydroxy compound such as glycerol are useful in the production of interlayers used in fire resistant glass laminates. The solutions are dried on a flat surface such as glass to produce a clear intumescent interlayer having improved impact resistance. The dried interlayer may be removed from the surface in the form of an elastomeric material which may also be used as an interlayer in a fire resistant glazing.

  • Patent number: 5855874
Abstract: A dentifrice composition comprising a liquid polyalkylene glycol carrier, and a liquid polyoxyalkylene compound miscible in said liquid polyalkylene glycol carrier.

  • Patent number: 5152556
Abstract: A connector system for joining a male tube to a female tube comprises an axially-split nut which extends across the region being joined. The female tube is externally threaded and mates with internal threads on one end of the axially-split nut. A shoulder formed in the other end of the axially-split nut engages a retaining ring formed on the male tube. A compressible seal ring is disposed between the end of the female tube and a second shoulder of the retaining ring. An external nut is placed over the axially-split nut to hold the entire assembly together and provide a radially compressive force on the seal ring. An axially compressive force can be provided by turning the female tube to draw the female and male tubes closer together.

  • Patent number: 4948150
Abstract: A device for the practice of the running-jumping-striking volleyball maneuver known as spiking including an elevated volleyball tethered below an essentially horizontal backstop by a flexible funicular rod. The backstop and flexible funicular rod serve rapidly to damp the kinetic energy imparted by spiking. The flexible funicular rod may also serve to impart a realistic feel to the person using the device to practice spiking. Elevated support for the volleyball is provided by an adjustable arm clamped to a volleyball net's end post or, alternatively, by an arm detachably mounted to the hoop of a basketball net. The device may be assembled, erected, and used by one person.

  • Patent number: 4791843
Abstract: An apparatus for punching holes into sheet materials, and more particularly, a high speed punching apparatus of the so-called bullet punch type for the sequential punching of holes into an advancing web or sheet of paper, plastic or other film material through the intermediary of a high-speed projectile reciprocatively piercing through the material.

  • Patent number: 4064997
Abstract: A system to prevent a crane turret and the boom carried thereby from rotating about the axis of the turret beyond a predetermined angular disposition, thereby to prevent the crane boom from being brought too close to high-tension wires or some other structure in the vicinity of which the crane is being operated. Means are provided for locked-in disposition at at least one, and preferably, two points about the 360.degree. arc circumscribing the turret with such means including projections adapted to trip limit switches extending radially outwardly from the rotatable turret. Each limit switch is connected into an electromagnetic circuit with the first switch to be tripped serving to actuate an audio and/or visual warning system, and the second switch to be tripped, an electromagnetic control of the fluid flow in a hydraulic or compressed air driving system.
