  • Publication number: 20180202693
Abstract: System and method for generating and storing electricity by electromagnetic induction using a magnetic field modulated by the formation, dissipation, and movement of vortices produced by a vortex material such as a type II superconductor and further including a vortex flux generator in cryostat and a refrigerant compartment having bi-directionally thermal transfer to the vortex flux generator are described. Magnetic field modulation occurs at the microscopic level, facilitating the production of high frequency electric power. Generator inductors are manufactured using microelectronic fabrication, in at least one dimension corresponding to the spacing of vortices. The vortex material fabrication method establishes the alignment of vortices and generator coils, permitting the electromagnetic induction of energy from many vortices into many coils simultaneously as a cumulative output of electricity. A thermoelectric cycle is used to convert heat energy into electricity.

  • Publication number: 20180022651
Abstract: A method of producing a neutron absorbing plate constructed of a boron carbide aluminum matrix composite material is disclosed. The method includes mixing a 30-50 micron average particle size B4C powder with an aqueous organic binder component to form a slurry; then drying the slurry at a temperature from about 20 to about 90 degrees Celsius until a dried cake comprising 1-20 percent organic binder of the total weight of said dry cake is formed; then granulating said dried cake to yield a granule size from about 0.5 mm to about 3 mm; then compressing said granules under pressure to create a particulate preform having an interior open porosity; and finally infiltrating the preform under pressure with a liquid metal, to form a metal matrix composite with uniform B4C particle loading.

  • Patent number: 9866556
Abstract: Techniques are described for a proxy system to provide a client device with transparent access to multiple network file servers. The proxy system may appear to the client device as a single network file server. The proxy may be configured to forward requests received from the client device to multiple servers as well as provide responses from the server back to the client. Further, the proxy system may authenticate itself, as the client, to each of the multiple network servers using authentication credentials supplied by the client. After prompting a user to submit credentials to establish a session with a first network server, the proxy system may send a session timeout error code, prompting the client to submit a fresh authentication request used by the proxy system to establish a session with a second network server.
