Abstract: A method for automatically controlling the downhill speed of a machine. The method includes establishing a target machine speed based on a current machine speed and determining whether at least one trigger condition including a grade greater than a predetermined threshold has been satisfied. If satisfied, the method activates a control system to control at least one of a powertrain retarder and a change in a transmission gear to prevent exceeding the target machine speed.

Abstract: A cyclonic separation system filter cartridge with a cylindrical body formed into at least thirty pleats having a solid bottom surface, an open top surface, a rigid inner cylindrical core, a top cap member substantially covering the open top surface except for a central circular opening, and a handle attached to either the rigid inner cylindrical core or to the top cap member, extending across the central circular opening. The pleats form a plurality of filtering chambers. Also, a mounting apparatus is disclosed that includes a top mounting flange, a retainer plate, removably connectable to the top mounting flange, a bottom plate and tie bracing connected to the mounting flange and the bottom plate, wherein the mounting apparatus is configured to be mounted, via the top mounting flange, within a cyclonic separation chamber, wherein the tie bracing is configured to extend along an internal wall of the separation chamber.

Abstract: A computer implemented method and system for targeting multimedia content based on authenticity of a user's marketing data, are provided. A multimedia distribution platform acquires marketing data from the user via an interactive interface. The multimedia distribution platform determines authenticity of the user's acquired marketing data by presenting multiple marketing specific challenges to the user based on the user's acquired marketing data, obtaining responses to the marketing specific challenges from the user, and analyzing the obtained responses using one or more marketing databases. The multimedia distribution platform rates the user's acquired marketing data based on the determined authenticity. The multimedia distribution platform targets the multimedia content to the user based on the determined authenticity and/or the rating of the user's acquired marketing data.

Abstract: A computer implemented method and system is provided for confirming that a viewer viewed multimedia content on a client device. A server provisioned with the multimedia content is provided. The viewer creates a viewer account and accesses the server by supplying the viewer credentials. The viewer receives a list of multimedia content on the client device from the server, on demand for selection, and selects viewing parameters and multimedia content from the list. The client device receives and plays the selected multimedia content based on the selected viewing parameters. Viewing of the selected multimedia content is confirmed using a random challenge that is random in content, presented at random times during and/or after the play, and/or presented at random physical locations on the selected multimedia content. A response report is generated and the viewer is compensated if the response report confirms that the viewer has viewed the selected multimedia content.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a computer implemented method and system for confirming that a viewer viewed multimedia content on a client device. The client device receives the multimedia content from a server and plays the multimedia content on a display screen of the client device. A random challenge is presented to the viewer by overlaying the random challenge on the multimedia content. The random challenge is one or more of random in content, presented at random times during and/or after play of the multimedia content, and presented at random physical locations on the multimedia content. A response for the presented random challenge is invoked from the viewer. The viewer's response confirms that the multimedia content has been viewed by the viewer. A response report is generated based on the viewer's response. The viewer is credited with an item of value, if the response report confirms the multimedia content was viewed by the viewer.

Abstract: A computer implemented method and system for creating a virtual community network for incentivized multimedia content viewing is provided. A first viewer receives the multimedia content for viewing on a client device from a server provided in a networked environment. The first viewer refers the multimedia content to one or more second viewers in the networked environment for viewing and further referrals. The server controls access to the multimedia content and confirms viewing of the multimedia content by the first viewer, the second viewers, and nth viewers from further referrals using a random challenge. The server generates response reports based on viewing of the multimedia content. The server credits the first viewer, the second viewers, the nth viewers, etc. with one or more items of value based on referring of the multimedia content, multimedia content view confirmation, and/or registration of the second viewers, the nth viewers, etc, with the server.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system and computer program product for positioning a context menu on a Graphical User Interface (GUI) are presented. A cursor over a selected element on the GUI is clicked to display a context window. When scrolling to a chosen option within the context window occurs, the entire context menu moves, thus keeping the selected element aligned next to a scrolled-to option in the context window.

Abstract: Techniques are described for a proxy system to provide a client device with transparent access to multiple network file servers. The proxy system may appear to the client device as a single network file server. The proxy may be configured to forward requests received from the client device to multiple servers as well as provide responses from the server back to the client. Further, the proxy system may authenticate itself, as the client, to each of the multiple network servers using authentication credentials supplied by the client. After prompting a user to submit credentials to establish a session with a first network server, the proxy system may send a session timeout error code, prompting the client to submit a fresh authentication request used by the proxy system to establish a session with a second network server.

Abstract: Systems and methods for block noise detection and filtering are disclosed. One embodiment includes, computing difference magnitudes in pixel values for adjacent pixels in the image. The difference magnitudes can include horizontal difference magnitudes for horizontally adjacent pixels and vertical difference magnitudes for vertically adjacent pixels. One embodiment further includes using normalized sums of the difference magnitudes to determine a set of noise characteristics of the block noise and a set of image characteristics of the image and configuring inputs to the block noise filter using the set of noise and image characteristics.

Abstract: An apparatus according to embodiments of the present invention includes a socket having at least three ball support points to constrain a ball, and a yoke rotatably coupled to the socket, the yoke having an axis of rotation that intersects the ball when the ball is positioned in the socket, the yoke rotatable to a closed position in which the yoke captures the ball in the socket, and the yoke rotatable to an open position in which the yoke does not capture the ball in the socket. According to some embodiments, the yoke is biased in the closed position such as, for example, by a spring. The yoke may be rotationally coupled to the socket at one or more locations, and the axis of rotation may intersect the ball when the ball is in the socket either through the center of the ball or at an off-center location.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for combining VoIP call data with geographical information are disclosed. According to one method, VoIP subscriber device call quality information and VoIP subscriber device status information are determined for a plurality of VoIP subscriber devices. Geographic information is obtained regarding a geographic area in which the VoIP subscriber devices are deployed. The VoIP subscriber device status and the call quality information are combined with the geographic information and, based on the combined VoIP subscriber device status and the geographic information, a map that illustrates the geographic locations of the VoIP subscriber devices and an indication of the current status and the call quality of each VoIP subscriber device is graphically displayed on a display device associated with a computer.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a computer implemented method and system for confirming that a viewer viewed multimedia content on a client device. A multimedia content owner uploads multimedia content on a server. The client device receives the multimedia content from the server and plays the multimedia content on a display screen of the client device. Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention is a system and method for loading a web page in a browser application. The method sends a request to retrieve the web page, receives a response to the request that includes the web page, and displays the web page in the browser application. The web page includes a static view portion, a dynamic view portion, and at least one possible action that a user may take from the web page. When the user takes each possible action, the browser application will display a related web page. The method receives a second response to the request that includes the static view portion of the related web page for each possible action, and stores the static view portion of the related web page for each possible action.

Abstract: A system and method for asynchronously updating a web page or web pages displayed on a computer. The method receives from the computer an event message that is generated as a response to an action by a user to change an object displayed on the web page. The method creates a dynamic dependency graph having a root node, and child nodes that depend upon the root node, and adds the object that generated the event message, or a reference to the object, to the dependency graph as the root node. In addition, the child nodes may add other child nodes. The method receives context information for other objects displayed on the web page, when a dependency exists between the object and the other objects. The method adds the other objects, or references to the other objects, to the dependency graph as the child nodes.

A flapper 84 is pivotally mounted to the sleeve, and includes a seat about a central bore 85 in the flapper for engagement with the plug. A stop 40 prevents pivoting of the flapper to an open position until the sleeve has moved axially and the seals seal between the sleeve and the housing.

Abstract: A multilayer ceramic carrier for an optical element includes a terraced cavity for retaining a vertically receiving or vertically emitting optical element. The multilayer ceramic carrier includes conductive traces interposed between the ceramic layers and which extend into the terraced cavity along the trenches formed in the cavity. A vertical cavity surface emitting laser or vertically receiving optical element is wire bonded to the conductive traces which extend into the cavity. In one embodiment, the terraced cavity of the multilayer ceramic carrier includes a VCSEL and photodetector therein, the photodetector capable of monitoring the output optical power of the VCSEL. The method for forming the multilayer ceramic carrier includes forming a plurality of layers of ceramic tape, joining the layers, then co-firing the stacked layers. The multilayer ceramic carrier is joined to a plastic optical housing which includes an aperture for securing an optical fiber.
