  • Patent number: 10814653
Abstract: A roller for a transport belt of a vacuum transport assembly includes an elongate cylindrical body adapted for a rotatably fixed connection to a vacuum transport assembly. An outer surface of the roller defines a hollow inner channel, which extends along an axial region of the body. The outer surface is a running surface for a transport belt. An inlet at one end of the hollow inner channel receives air from an air source. Perforations are formed in the outer surface for allowing air pressure to be discharged from the hollow inner channel toward the transport belt. The air diffuses through the transport belt to detack a sheet from the transport belt.

  • Patent number: 10751935
Abstract: The automation of the assembly of a stack of substrates in the process of forming an object includes a blanking die having a push through plate to drive the blanked sheets onto a set of locating pins, thereby creating a very accurate stack. An image forming device may print and develop images onto a web that is subsequently die cut and stacked onto a curing platen. The die cutter cuts individual sheets out of the web and cuts or pre-cuts alignment holes into each sheet that would be accepted by the curing platen having locating pins corresponding to the alignment holes in the sheet. The die cutting operation includes a tamping device that would accurately transfer the sheets from the die to the curing platen. This stack may then be removed and/or processed to form a 3D object.

  • Patent number: 10725149
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for autonomous joint detection-classification of acoustic sources of interest. Localization and tracking from unmanned marine vehicles are also described. Based on receiving acoustic signals originating above or below the surface, a processor can process the acoustic signals to determine the target of interest associated with the acoustic signal. The methods and systems autonomously and jointly detect and classify a target of interest. A target track can be generated corresponding to the locations of the detected target of interest. A classifier can be used representing spectral characteristics of a target of interest.

  • Patent number: 9119351
Abstract: A multi-layered gravel hydroponic system comprising at least one trench dug into earth, a sheet of fibrous capillary material laid over the trench, sand that fills the trench, a layer of sedimentary-type pea gravel over the sand and capillary material, and a conduit extending into the sand trench to provide fresh water during watering cycles. When combined, the sand and fibrous capillary layers irrigate seeds and roots imbedded in the pea gravel, which provides the growing nutrients. Because the pea gravel is derived from organic material, its natural composition of various minerals provides a nutrient environment to sustain root growth. The resulting structure replaces the need for soil and fertilizers. By watering beneath the pea gravel, nutrients inherent in the pea gravel travel with the water to evenly feed roots throughout the growing region.

  • Patent number: 9086118
Abstract: A load pin and clevis joint for joining two or more mechanical components together. The load pin includes a retention feature that requires two separate motions to unlock the pin. In a locked state, the load pin is secured across both halves of a clevis joint so that it completely spans an open span between the two clevis halves. In the preferred embodiment, the two motions required to unlock the load pin are (1) moving the load pin linearly; and (2) rotating the load pin.

  • Publication number: 20140195305
Abstract: A method of creating a digital solution, such as a website, for a business where business specific information is collected separately before digital solution information is collected that pertains to the creation and delivery of the digital solution. The business specific information collected may be industry specific, stored separately in the system from digital solution information, and the digital solutions created for optimal presentation on customer computer devices with different configurations through means such as transcoding.

  • Patent number: 8496407
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a seismic cable is disclosed. In one embodiment, the seismic cable includes a first cable segment and a second cable segment coupled together by a connector that prevents transmission of power and data signals between the first cable segment and the second cable segment. Each cable segment includes an inner jacket defining a hollow core, a braided strength fiber surrounding the inner jacket, and an outer jacket circumferentially surrounding the braided strength fiber, wherein the connector isolates the first and second cable segments.
