  • Publication number: 20080012578

  • Publication number: 20070289555
Abstract: Current product offerings do not provide for a light-weight, portable dog restraint system for soft terrain, particularly for beach locations. Many states have enacted laws that require a dog to be on a leash while on a beach. This requirement makes it difficult for dog owners to restrain their dogs and simultaneously enjoy the beach. The challenge is to find a way to provide enough resistance to restrain a dog in a soft terrain setting. This challenge is addressed by a product which allows for appropriate weight to be added to the restraint system on location. The restraint system consists of a hollowed receptacle which can be filled with sand or water at the beach location. The hollow receptacle is then closed by a sleeve that screws into the hollow base. The sleeve consists of a center core wrapped by a pipe and eye-bolt system that rotates 360 degree around the center core. This allows the dog to be tethered, but have a free range of motion around the restraint system base.

  • Patent number: 7283645
Abstract: A system and process for recognizing an object in an input image involving first generating training images depicting the object. A set of prototype edge features is created that collectively represent the edge pixel patterns encountered within a sub-window centered on each pixel depicting an edge of the object in the training images. Next, a Hough kernel is defined for each prototype edge feature in the form of a set of offset vectors representing the distance and direction, from each edge pixel having an associated sub-window exhibiting an edge pixel pattern best represented by the prototype edge feature, to a prescribed reference point on a surface of the object. The offset vectors are represented as originating at a central point of the kernel. For each edge pixel in the input image, the prototype edge feature which best represents the edge pixel pattern exhibited within the sub-window centered on the edge pixel is identified.

  • Publication number: 20070204031
Abstract: A system and method for storing context data in a network device that is in the data path between a user computer and a server, thereby allowing for the secure and ongoing storage of user computer-specific context data without adding unnecessary complexity to existing web server methods, while at the same time supporting redundancy and facilitating effective load-balancing. By storing user computer-specific context data in the data path between the user computer and the server, the invention reduces the complexity of the web server, improves the handling of server failure, and increases the overall scalability of the system.

  • Publication number: 20070107927
Abstract: A termination anchor having a neck region, a mid region, and a distal region. An expanding passage through the anchor from the neck region to the distal region is bounded by an internal surface. Exposed strands on a cable are trapped within this expanding passage by infusing them with liquid potting compound (either before or after the strands are placed within the passage). This liquid potting compound solidifies while the strands are within the anchor to form a solidified potted region. The present invention optimizes the profile of the internal surface in order to transfer stress occurring in the neck region to the mid region and the distal region. By transferring some of this stress, a more uniform stress distribution and a lower peak stress are achieved.

  • Publication number: 20070108656
Abstract: A process for forcibly infusing liquid potting compound into the exposed strands of a cable prior to forming a termination. The process uses a mold that encloses the exposed strands. Potting compound is then pumped into the mold, where it runs around and through the exposed strands. A second venting passage is preferably employed, so that the liquid potting compound flows through the mold without trapping any air pockets.
