  • Patent number: 9463569
Abstract: Gripping stability and comfort to a user is provided by a gripping system for a handle. A gripping wrap utilizes friction ridges and relief grooves. The gripping wrap has first barrels disposed on a wrap edge and second barrels disposed on an opposing wrap edge. Between each barrel are disposed gaps that separate the barrels such that the barrels and gaps are alternatingly disposed on the wrap edges. The gripping wrap is disposed on and flexibly covers at least a portion of a handle exterior surface. A shim member is disposed between the gripping wrap and the handle to fill in gaps. Barrels from one wrap edge are aligned with gaps on the opposing wrap edge such that each barrel fits in its corresponding gap. A binding component is slidably inserted through a barrel channel of each barrel to secure and retain the gripping wrap on the handle.

  • Publication number: 20160228594
Abstract: Improved compositions are disclosed that inhibit ammonia volatilization from poultry litter and other animal enclosures. In some variations, a composition for use in reducing ammonia generation in animal enclosures comprises metal sulfate, an organic acid with pKa of about 3 or higher, and optionally a buffer. In some variations, a composition for use in reducing ammonia generation in animal enclosures comprises metal sulfate, an inorganic acid with pKa of about 1 or higher, and a buffer. A method of reducing ammonia concentration in an animal enclosure (e.g., a chicken house) includes introducing any of the compositions described herein. In some embodiments, the animal enclosure is a chicken house. The ammonia concentration may be maintained below 50 ppm NH3, preferably below about 25 ppm NH3.

  • Patent number: 9402418
Abstract: An apparatus and method for making a coiled cigarette filter is described. The apparatus includes a winding pin having a pinhead and a pin body, the pin body having a slot therein, separating the pin body into a first leg and a second leg. The winding pin is secured to a pin holder for synchronized rotation therewith, such that the pin body extends beyond one end of the pin holder to expose a length of the pin body. One end of a sheet of cigarette filter paper is inserted into the slot in the pin body and the pin holder is rotated in one direction causing the cigarette filter paper to wind around the pin body forming the coiled cigarette filter. Included as well is a pin cover, which is removeably attached to the pin holder for protecting the pin body when not in use.

  • Publication number: 20160144592
Abstract: Adjoining edges of adjacent honeycomb core panel sections are mechanically interlocked. In one embodiment, the method includes forming a first edge along a first cellular core panel section. The first edge includes a first plurality of edge cell walls along the first edge. The method further includes forming a second edge along a second cellular core panel section, wherein the second edge includes a second plurality of edge cell walls along the second edge. The first edge is positioned proximate to the second edge. At least a portion of at least one of the first plurality of edge cell walls is mechanically interlocked with at least a portion of at least one of the second plurality of edge cell walls to form a joint therebetween. • Publication number: 20160124925
Abstract: A messaging system automatically populates a stream of messages using only a seed selected by the requesting account holder. In one embodiment, the seed includes the streams of one or more of the “top” accounts of the messaging system. Here, “top” is according to any one of a number of different metrics stored in the messaging system. With knowledge of the seed, the messaging system automatically populates a stream for the requesting account holder, without requiring any other input. As a result, an account holder is provided with a fully functioning stream with very little effort or knowledge required on their part.

  • Patent number: 9321115
Abstract: The present invention discloses various methods for repairing a side seal region of a transition duct aft frame region. Embodiments of the present invention include application of a braze filler material to worn locations of seal teeth, brazing of a braze preform to the seal teeth or removal of a worn seal tooth and brazing of material compatible with the transition duct to form a replacement tooth of the side seal. The transition duct is brazed in a furnace in an incremental heated process which elevates the transition duct to a temperature where the braze filler material adheres to the side seal region while also providing a stress relief to the transition duct.
