  • Patent number: 9738051
Abstract: Adjoining edges of adjacent honeycomb core panel sections are mechanically interlocked. In one embodiment, the method includes forming a first edge along a first cellular core panel section. The first edge includes a first plurality of edge cell walls along the first edge. The method further includes forming a second edge along a second cellular core panel section, wherein the second edge includes a second plurality of edge cell walls along the second edge. The first edge is positioned proximate to the second edge. At least a portion of at least one of the first plurality of edge cell walls is mechanically interlocked with at least a portion of at least one of the second plurality of edge cell walls to form a joint therebetween. A composite structure may be at least partially produced by such a method.

  • Publication number: 20170181856
Abstract: A variable angle blade augment including an augment component and a blade component. The blade component includes a buttress portion and a neck portion, with the neck portion having a body segment and a face segment that is contoured for mating engagement with an outer surface of the acetabular shell. The augment component has a first opening sized and shaped to receive insertion of the body segment, and which is also sized to accommodate selective adjustment of, when the body segment is positioned in the first opening, linear and angular orientations of the blade component relative to the augment component. Additionally, the body segment has a length that is sized to facilitate direct contact of the face segment with the acetabular shell when the variable angle blade augment is in an assembled configuration. Further, cement can be injected into the internal cavity to unitize the connection between the acetabular shell and the blade component.

  • Publication number: 20170158559
Abstract: It has been unexpectedly discovered that the addition of a natural or other pozzolan to non-spec fly ash significantly improves the properties of the non-spec fly ash to the extent it can be certified under ASTM C618 and AASHTO 295, as either a Class F or Class C fly ash. The natural pozzolan may be a volcanic ejecta, such as pumice or perlite. Other pozzolans may also be used for this beneficiation process. Many pozzolans are experimentally tested and may be used to beneficiate non-spec fly ash into certifiable Class F fly ash. Additionally, this disclosure provides a method of converting a Class C fly ash to a more valuable Class F fly ash. This discovery will extend diminishing Class F fly ash supplies and turn non-spec fly ash waste streams into valuable, certified fly ash pozzolan which will protect and enhance concrete, mortars and grouts.

  • Patent number: 9529903
Abstract: Systems and methods are providing for searching for documents within topically-defined clusters. A search space is defined, starting with one or more source documents, by examining references from one documents to another and following the networks of references to some level of indirection. Depending on the embodiment, references may be followed from a document containing a reference to a referred-to document, or from a referred-to document to a document containing a reference, or both. Once a search space has been defined, a query is executed, and documents within the search space that satisfy the query parameters are identified. In certain embodiments of the invention, the documents primarily relate to legal materials, and one or more source documents are associated with one or more topics within a topic directory.

  • Publication number: 20160362090
Abstract: A tool is disclosed that facilitates use of a vehicle wash mitt of the type having an interior of predetermined size for receiving a human hand. The tool is referred to as a truck wash paddle assembly for use in washing difficult-to-reach portions of the user's pickup truck or other vehicle. It includes an object referred to as a mitt-holding member (i.e., an MHM) on which a user mounts an elongated handle to form the tool. The MHM includes a body of material having a size and shape that fits within the interior of the wash mitt in the place of the human hand. A handle-receiving portion of the MHM defines a handle-receiving bore for receiving the end portion of an elongated handle. Preferably, an interiorly threaded metal insert within the bore mates with the exteriorly threaded end portion of a commonly available handle having an Acme-type thread. Simply removing the wash mitt from the MHM readies it for independent use, cleaning, and storage.

  • Patent number: 9513890
Abstract: Method and system are disclosed for providing multiple installations of a software application. The method/system creates an installation template from a single correct or “golden” installation of the software application and uses the installation template to produce additional installations of the software application. In one embodiment, any references to a specific host or computing system in the files or directories of the installed software application are replaced with a temporary variable in the installation template. The installation template may then be stored on a designated server and uploaded to any computing system needing a new installation of the software application. Once uploaded, the variable is replaced with system-specific references to complete the new installations. Since the installations are produced from the installation template and not from floppy disks or CD-ROMs, the process takes significantly less time.

  • Patent number: 9501361
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a computer implemented method of performing recovery for a customer server system that has an associated backup of server system data of the customer server system, the method comprising the steps of: receiving a server recovery request at a portal for a rebuild of at least part of the customer server system; and, sending a request from the portal to a cloud-based data center for on-demand provisioning of cloud-based server resources, wherein the request includes information on the location of at least part of the backup of the server system data to enable the deployment of a rebuild of at least part of the customer server system at the cloud-based data center. Advantages include a user being able to easily manage disaster recovery testing as well as actual live recovery operations. The use of temporary servers in the cloud is an efficient, and inexpensive, use of resources as the servers can be rented and used only when required.

  • Publication number: 20160317308
Abstract: A variable angle blade augment including an augment section and a separate plate or blade segment. According to some embodiments, a first connector of the blade segment and a socket capture mechanism of the augment section provide a ball and socket type joint. Additionally, the socket capture mechanism may be structured to allow for linear displacement of the first connector relative to at least one axis of the socket capture mechanism. By allowing for at least pivotal and linear relative displacement of the augment section and the blade segment, the variable angle blade augment may improve the ability to optimally position a buttress augment against a prosthetic acetabular shell. Moreover, the variable angle blade augment may provide the ability to utilize components of an implantable medical device after stabilizing the components to a bone structure of a patient.
