Publication number: 20220258827Abstract: A bicycle has a front fork, within which the front wheel is mounted, attached to the head tube. Extending downwardly from each end of a lateral member are downwardly projecting forks, each comprising a primary portion, the respective primary portions extending downwardly and substantially parallel to each other. The longitudinal axes of both the main portion and a rider's lower leg are aligned. By aligning the wakes created by the forks and the lower leg a reduction in overall system drag is provided. Additionally or alternatively, the rear wheel may be provided between downwardly projecting stays, each comprising a primary portion, the respective primary portions extending downwardly and substantially parallel to each other. By aligning the downwardly projecting stays with the lower leg beneficial drag reduction is achieved.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2022Publication date: August 18, 2022Inventors: Anthony John Purnell, Christopher Charles Hebert, Neil James Ashton, Richard Matthews, Gregory Martin Stevens

Publication number: 20220244029Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including medium-encoded computer program products, for automatic generation of probe path for surface inspection and part alignment. A mesh model is obtained of at least a portion of a three dimensional model of a part to be manufactured using a computer-controlled manufacturing system. Vertex points from the mesh model are collected to be an initial set of probing points in a three dimensional space of a working coordinate system of the computer-controlled manufacturing system, and filtering out points are filtered out from the initial set of probing points based on coverage of the least a portion of the three dimensional model to produce a final set of probing points. The final set of probing points is provided for use in alignment or surface inspection of the part by the computer-controlled manufacturing system.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2021Publication date: August 4, 2022Inventors: Marco Adriano, Lee Sanders, Richard Matthew Stubley

Publication number: 20220186568Abstract: A connection assembly and a method comprises first and second connector portions having a preload mechanism comprising a plurality of bores and threaded fixings circumferentially spaced around the axis, wherein the preload mechanism is arranged to apply an axial load between shoulders on the first and second connector portions when torque is applied to the threaded fixings. An annular sealing member is compressed between the first and second portions, and the axial load applied between the first and second shoulders by the preload mechanism exceeds a peak hydrodynamic load urging the first and second connector portions in a direction along the axis. The axial force applied by the preload mechanism advantageously reduces the fatigue damage experienced by the connection, for example, by cyclic pressure changes within the connector portions typically caused by pumps operating at high pressures.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2021Publication date: June 16, 2022Inventors: Richard Matthew Westgarth, Graham Knox, Jonathan Tweddle

Patent number: 10891434Abstract: Methods for generation and execution of elastic sheet-defined functions and arrays are performed by systems, devices, and apparatuses. Elastic sheet-defined functions are generated from inelastic defined functions. Specific notations for tile ranges and range references of inputs for an inelastic function are generated, and heights, widths, rows, and columns of the inputs are modified with delta variables. Constraints for the delta variables are generated and mapped to solve for a constraints solution for a given inelastic function. Based on the constraints solution, an elastic sheet-defined function is generated that takes dynamic input ranges of different sizes. Elastic sheet-defined functions are executed to prevent overlap of tiles and ranges for variables by generating new sheets for tiles and ranges, dynamically moving tiles and ranges, and assigning cells as arrays. Software programming arrays are also dynamically sized in a similar manner.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2018Date of Patent: January 12, 2021Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Simon L.
