  • Publication number: 20090172145
Abstract: A network of point of presence servers allows a customer to organize their web site by functions where functions are mapped into domain names. The functions have requirements that define what is needed by a server to satisfy the function. The domain names are mapped into resources or servers that can be addressed by the domain name and that satisfy requests for the function that domain name has been defined to support. This method of organization allows individual elements of a web page to be retrieved from different resources and gives the name server the control to direct users to an available and optimal server for a given resource.

  • Publication number: 20090169202
Abstract: Systems and methods for link discovery and verification that minimize the need for line termination resources to generate and interpret packets. According to one aspect of the present invention, a method for operating a first node in a data communication network to verify connectivity to a second node includes sending a request for verification of connectivity to the second node that identifies an IP address of the first node, a port of the first node, and an IP address of the second node. The method also includes toggling a signal emitted by the port, and notifying the second node of a toggling mode of the port. Finally, the method includes receiving a first message from the second node indicating whether the second node detected the toggling. The request for verification of connectivity is sent on a control channel via a control message separate from the signal and the first message.

  • Publication number: 20090169548
Abstract: The present invention relates to the manufacture of mono, di and multivalent polypeptide binding complexes, also mono, di or multispecific polypeptide binding complexes and uses thereof. The invention also relates to the manufacture and use of a diverse repertoire of antigen specific VH binding domains derived from phage display libraries, transgenic animals or natural sources. Preferably the VH binding domains and the dimerisation domains comprise human sequences. The polypeptide binding complexes comprise homo or heterodimerisation domains with four antigen binding [VH] domains fused at the amino and carboxyl termini of the dimerisation domains preferably using natural hinge or linker peptides. Where the polypeptide binding complexes lack CH2-CH3 effector functions they are preferably less than 120 kDa in size. Routes of manufacture are described herein.

  • Publication number: 20090171233
Abstract: A biofeedback system and a display device for the use in the biofeedback system. Also disclosed is a method for a biofeedback treatment of a person or an animal. Biofeedback is a therapy method which is used in rehabilitation facilities, for example in the neurological rehabilitation. A neural signal magnitude below a certain threshold does not result in a muscle response, for example, because the provided stimulus is insufficient to trigger the muscle. In order to provide a patient with an intuitive feedback of the sub-threshold neural signal nevertheless, the signal is detected and made recognizable to the patient.
