  • Publication number: 20090170540
Abstract: In a telecommunications system such as a global mobile telephone network in which each subscriber unit includes a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM card), each SIM card has fixed memory locations, to which data can be addressed over the air. Some of the locations can not be overwritten from the subscriber unit but can be accessed therefrom on the entry of short simple codes, each associated with one of the locations. Further fixed memory locations can be read over the air only when the subscriber enters a personal identification number. Locking control files are used to control read/write access to the locations respectively.

  • Publication number: 20090165927
Abstract: Installation of a flexible cured in place liner by inverting the liner with air and curing the liner with steam introduced through a perforated lay flat hose without deflating the liner between the inversion and cure. The installation is performed with an apparatus having two independently operable glands with at least one fluid inlet port installed on the line downstream of the second gland liner. As the liner reaches the distal end of the conduit to be lined, it enters a sample and porting pipe with an exhaust pipe gland and exhaust pipe and it is pierced by a rigid porting tool. Steam is then introduced into the lay flat hose to cure the resin and is exhausted through an exhaust hose connected to a controllable exhaust pipe. After curing steam is replaced with air to cool the liner, the ends are cut to restore service through the host pipe.

  • Patent number: 7555378
Abstract: A method for logging and reporting driver activity and vehicle operation includes identifying a driver of a vehicle, recording operating data with an on-board recorder that is hard-wired to an engine control module, coupled to a mileage sensing system, and linked to a global navigation satellite system, and recording duty status of the driver. An hours of service log and a fuel tax log are created from the operating data. The method includes comparing the driver's hours of service log to an applicable requirement, indicating to the driver whether the driver is in-compliance or out-of-compliance with the applicable requirement, automatically uploading the logs to a receiver external to the vehicle using a wireless telecommunications network, and emitting a compliance signal representative of whether the driver is in-compliance or out-of-compliance with the applicable requirement to a second receiver external to the vehicle and under control of authorities.

  • Patent number: 7554843
Abstract: A serial bus which comprises two wires (a clock signal and a data signal), one of which transmits high voltages in addition to the two-level voltages used for conventional serial digital data transmission. During the second part of the transmission one of the serial wires changes function to a high voltage signal that is used to program the location which was addressed in the first part of the transmission. The high voltage signal may be a simple DC level for programming digital data into memory, or it can be a set of pulses with either fixed or variable parameters for programming digital, multi-level or analog levels into memory.

  • Patent number: 7552567
Abstract: A perimeter clip is made of a single piece of sheet metal and includes first and second legs that are bent at approximately 90 degrees with respect to each other. The first leg is for engaging the vertical leg of a wall angle. The second leg is adapted to receive the head or bulb of the runner. The first leg includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion of the first leg forms a back plate that is displaced from the plane of the lower portion, with a generally horizontal ledge connecting the upper portion to the lower portion. The first leg has a tongue or tab that is displaced from the plane of the remainder of the lower portion so that, when in place, the vertical leg of the wall angle is held between the tongue and the remainder of the lower portion. The upper portion of the second leg comprises an inverted, generally U-shaped member, the open end of which forms a trough that supports the lower surface of the bulb of the runner.

  • Patent number: 7555100
Abstract: A method for long length imaging with a digital radiography apparatus. Setup instructions are obtained for the image and a set of imaging positions is calculated for an exposure series according to the setup instructions. An operator command is obtained to initiate an imaging sequence. The imaging sequence is executed for each member of the set of imaging positions in the exposure series by automatically repeating the steps of positioning a radiation source and a detector at a location corresponding to the specified member of the set of imaging positions and obtaining an image from the detector at that location and storing the image as a partial image. The long length image is generated by combining two or more partial images.

  • Patent number: 7554737
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing illumination suitable for imaging devices such as laser projection systems, wherein the illumination pattern is adjustable by modifying one or more characteristics of a controlled angle diffuser. In one embodiment, a highly collimated (e.g., laser light) beam is passed through a holographic diffuser to create a well defined cone angle for the light emanating from each point on the diffuser. This light is focused into an illumination image that is controlled by the prescription of the diffuser. In one embodiment, the diffuser can be positioned to alternately place different regions having different prescriptions in the optical path corresponding to the illumination image. In one embodiment, the diffuser can be continually moved to eliminate speckling and “worminess” in the illumination image.
