  • Patent number: 8719394
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an arrangement in a communication system in which a network management architecture comprises modules representing a virtual reality of network nodes (24) and network links under management. Organization of said modules and information contained in said modules are based on a pre-determined network management schema, whereby said network nodes (24) and said network links are managed by accessing and manipulating said modules. The network management schema is modified by reducing the amount of information in said modules. Then, the modified network management schema is used for managing said communication network system and thereby facilitating communication network system management.

  • Publication number: 20140051416
Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided to reduce the amount of performance indicator (PI) data to retrieve from a network node (28). The performance indicator (PI) data to be retrieved may depend on the reporting mode of the node, as well as the configured reporting scope of the current reporting mode. The set of available reporting modes may depend of the node type. Moreover, the current reporting mode may depend on the time of day, week, etc., the amount of served subscribers, traffic volume, etc., over a time window, whether a specific fault has occurred, etc.

  • Publication number: 20130272149
Abstract: A system and method for detecting cooperation or conflict between actors in a network made up of self-organizing sub-networks examines parameters such as performance indicators and configuration parameters to determine whether or not different actors are adjusting configuration parameters in a way that is cooperative or conflicting. When a performance indicator is observed to be outside of its expected range, an acceptable convergence range can be defined to give the actors time to adjust and return the performance indicator to its expected range of values. When a performance indicator is detected to be non-convergent, the monitor can alert an operator, or another node, so that appropriate actions can be taken.

  • Patent number: 8547959
Abstract: A device associated with a network receives a register request from a managed node connected to the network, where the register request requests registration of the managed node. The device also establishes a command channel, for sending one or more commands, with the managed node based on the register request, and establishes a notification channel, for sending one or more notifications, with the managed node based on the register request.

  • Patent number: 8538325
Abstract: The technology described in this application provides a way for an O&M node or system to configure, monitor, and manage relay nodes efficiently. A base station serves a relay node in a cellular communications system that also includes the O&M node. A relay node O&M data context for the relay node is established in a memory associated with the base station. O&M data pertaining to the relay node is stored in the relay node O&M data context. The information in the relay node O&M data context is different than O&M data pertaining to the base station. The base station performs, on behalf of the relay node, O&M-related communications using the O&M data in the relay node O&M data context.

  • Publication number: 20130090123
Abstract: A relay node (110) for a radio access network (100), arranged to be a relay node between one or more User Equipments (105) in a cell (125) of the radio access network and a base station (115) serving the cell. The relay node (110) is arranged to identify itself as a relay node in the cell (125) in the radio access network (100), and is also arranged to receive a non-support indication indicating that the base station serving the cell (125) is unable to support a relay node. The relay node (110) is arranged to, upon receiving said non-support indication, attempt to establish itself as a relay node in another cell.

  • Publication number: 20120220291
Abstract: Provided are methods for handling reports on lost connections in a terminal device which is capable of being in communication connection with a plurality of network access nodes, wherein the terminal device generates, after having lost connection to a (first) network access node, a report on the loss of connection and, upon or after reconnecting of the terminal device with the same or a different network access node, sends the report on the loss of connection to the network access node. The network access node receiving a report on loss of connection from a terminal device, forwards said report to a central server and/or to a network access node to which the terminal device was connected before. Further provided are a terminal device comprising a receiver and a transmitter and being adapted to connect to an access node of a network, particularly of a wireless, e.g.

  • Patent number: 8190136
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and an access network management device for initiating a tracing of the activities of a wireless terminal in a wireless network as well as to a method and a core network management device for ordering a tracing of the activities of a wireless terminal in a wireless network. According to the invention an access network management device in an access network section (AN) of a wireless network (WN) sends a request for a tracing regarding a wireless terminal to a core network management device in a core network section (CN) of the wireless network (WN). The core network management device automatically orders, based on the request, network elements of the access network section (AN) to perform tracing regarding the wireless terminal.

  • Publication number: 20120123352
Abstract: Catheters and methods for removing material from (or “debulking”) a body lumen while imaging the region comprised of the material are provided. The catheters can be used in body lumens, including but not limited to intravascular lumens such as coronary or peripheral arteries. The catheters include housings or other structures to mount or protect an imaging transducer. Generally, debulking catheters include a proximal portion, a distal portion having an opening, a cutting element which may be exposed through the opening to contact material in a body lumen and an imaging transducer with associated circuitry and display. The catheter debulks a body lumen when it is moved while the cutting element is in contact with the material in the lumen and the region comprised of the material is imaged before, after, or during catheter movement.

  • Publication number: 20120109171
Abstract: An atherectomy catheter having an inner drive shaft which rotates a distal rotary tissue borer with a helical cutting surface which enables the catheter to cut through and cross a CTO. Additionally, the atherectomy catheter has a distal cutting element rotated by an outer drive shaft configured to cut material from the wall of a vessel at a treatment site as the catheter is pushed distally through the treatment site. The atherectomy catheter includes a collection chamber positioned proximally of the cutting element and rotary tissue borer. The atherectomy catheter may include means to direct material cut from the treatment site into the collection chamber, means to break down larger portions of material that may block or clog the collection chamber and means of transporting the material collected from the treatment site to a proximal opening in the atherectomy catheter.

  • Publication number: 20120079024
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for correlating event notifications between agents in a management network are provided. An agent constructs a network notification in response to receiving an event notification. If the received event notification is associated with a prior notification already received and stored by the agent, a correlation attribute is added to the constructed network notification. If the received notification matches a peer agent notification category that another agent in the management network is interested in receiving, the constructed network notification is sent to the other agent.

  • Patent number: 8069452
Abstract: Methods and agent for correlating event notifications are provided wherein the agent comprises an interface receiving an event notification, a Peer Agent Notification Category List (PANCL) storing peer agent notification categories of event notifications that other agents are interested in receiving from the agent, and a notifications processing engine that determines if the event notification matches the peer agent notification categories of the PANCL. Upon positive determination the first event notification is sent at least to a second agent associated with the matched peer agent notification category of the PANCL. In another aspect, the agent comprises a manager notifications log storing identities of event notifications sent from the agent to the manager and a notifications processing engine that determines if a received peer agent event notification matches any event notifications of the log.

  • Publication number: 20110117131
Abstract: The present invention relates, generally, to the production of one or more OspA proteins in plant cells. Heterologous DNA comprising genes encoding one or more desired OspA protein(s) are introduced into plant cells. The one or more OspA protein(s) can be recombinantly-produced in the plant cells, optionally purified from the plant cells, and used as an oral vaccine to prevent the transmission of Lyme disease, particularly by animal vectors. The recombinantly-produced OspA protein(s) can be provided in oral and parenteral formulations. The present invention also relates to oral administration of OspA protein(s) to vaccinate against Lyme disease. The OspA protein(s) may be provided in a dosage form that is suitable for oral administration as a vaccine to prevent an animal from developing Lyme disease after exposure to a source of Borrelia burgdorferi.
