    Abstract: A flexible-to-rigid tube is flexible when routed and is then rigidized to increase burst strength. According to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, the flexible-to-rigid tube is included in a cooling plate assembly for transferring heat from electronic components mounted on a circuit board. In one embodiment, the flexible-to-rigid tube (while in a flexible state) includes a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) or other silicone containing pendant or terminal epoxy, vinyl and/or acrylate functional groups and an initiator (e.g., a sulfonium salt photoinitiator, a free radical photoinitiator, or a thermal initiator). In another embodiment, triallyl isocyanurate (TAIC) and an initiator are incorporated into a conventional PVC-based tubing material. The flexible-to-rigid tube changes from the flexible state to a rigid state via formation of a cross-linked network upon exposure to actinic radiation or heat.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention generally provide for a system that removes excess thermal energy from a datacenter. In one embodiment, the system includes a holding container with highly thermally conductive surfaces installed in the warmest area(s) of the datacenter. Two substances are released into the holding container and are mixed creating a liquid solution and causing an endothermic reaction. The resulting reaction transfers thermal energy from the datacenter air to the new solution. The liquid solution is then pumped out of the datacenter, where it can be passed through a dialyzing membrane or an evaporation chamber, which separates the liquid solution into its two original substances.

    Abstract: A thermoelectric generation device is configured for mounting on cooling tubes of a heat exchanger of a computer room air conditioning unit in a data center. A first type of Seebeck material and a second type of Seebeck material are arranged in a matrix and connected in series. An electrically insulating, but thermally conducting plate is located on either side of the device. The device is mounted physically on cooling tubes of the heat exchanger and exposed on the other side to the warm air environment. As a result of the temperature difference a voltage is generated that may be used to power an electrical load connected thereto.

    Abstract: An anti-tilt pallet includes a first sub-frame and a second sub-frame. The first sub-frame has a first vertical support member, a first extension member and a second extension member. The second sub-frame has a second vertical support member, a third extension member and a fourth extension member. The first through fourth extension members each have an alignment hole therethrough. A plurality of first alignment members are disposed in the alignment holes of the first extension member and the third extension member to align the first extension member with the third extension member, and a plurality of second alignment members are disposed in the alignment holes of the second extension member and the fourth extension member to align the second extension member with the fourth extension member. A slot is configured to removably receive a weight in at least one of the first sub-frame and the second sub-frame.

In a specific example, administration of cell free hemoglobin, a nitric oxide scavenger, in conjunction with mitomycin C, a hypoxic cytotoxin, results in a significant delay in tumor growth of a human tumor xenograft in a mouse compared to mitomycin C alone.

    Abstract: A dough cutting and packing apparatus capable of processing and packaging dough products of differing dimensions includes a plurality of cutting plates supported adjacent one another to form an endless cutting unit. A container positioning mechanism positions a plurality of containers relative to the openings to receive the dough pieces after they are removed by the reciprocating packing mechanism. A servo motor drive actuation of both the cutter bar indexing drive system and the container advancement system allows for accurate positioning by reprogramming the servo drive for a particular product dimension rather than mechanically changing over to alternate equipment. A self-contained container advancement module can be removed and replaced with another container module suitable for delivering containers of different dimensions.

    Abstract: Mold for injection molding battery containers which include a plurality of thin resilient ribs integral with and projecting at acute angles from the inside walls thereof into the cell compartment(s) to hold the battery's innards therein. The core of the mold includes a mandrel defining the cell compartment. The mandrel has dovetail-like mortises therein and complementary-shaped ejector bars reciprocally slideable within the mortises between retracted and extended positions to facilitate stripping the container from the core. The rib-forming portion of the mold cavity is formed in the side walls of the ejector bar. The ejector bars travel with the container during at least part of the ejection cycle so as to free the rib from the rib-forming cavity without untoward resistance or permanent deformation of the ribs.

    Abstract: Ammonium perchlorate particles having strongly adherent wettable coatings are made by treating the particles with stong amines that displace ammonia to form amine perchlorates at the particle surfaces. Silanylamines are preferred since after amination of the perchlorate the silane groups can be hydrolyzed to siloxanes having good wettability by liquid polymeric propellant binders. The coated perchlorate can be used to produce solid propellants having improved mechanical properties and burning characteristics.
