  • Patent number: 6224347
Abstract: A pump (10) includes a motor (11) which rotates a pumping assembly (52) which includes a face plate (54) and a cylinder (56). A piston (67) reciprocates in the cylinder (56) to draw fluid into the cylinder (56) from an intake groove (78) and an intake port (76) formed in a manifold plate (73) positioned adjacent to the face plate (54), and to thereafter discharge that fluid to a discharge groove (80) and a discharge port (77) formed in the manifold plate (73). The piston (67) rides on a swash plate (49) as the face plate (54) rotates, and the extent of reciprocation of the piston (67) and therefore the amount of fluid to be dispersed on each reciprocation of the piston (67) is controlled by an adjuster wheel (40) which can be moved to allow the swash plate (49) to pivot a predetermined extent. As such, the pump (10) can dispense a known precise amount of fluid on each reciprocation of the piston (67).

  • Patent number: 5993465
Abstract: The clip applier of the current invention solves the problems of prior art tools by incorporating a pre-clamp mechanism, the function of which is to pre-clamp the vessel to be ligated to a dimension such that the center leg of the spring of the ligation clip need be lifted only slightly. In this manner the spring clip can be slid over the smaller pre-clamped dimension. This insures that the clip spring material will remain within its elastic limit while allowing the tool to maintain a low profile for use in endoscopic surgery, even on large diameter vessels.

  • Patent number: 5121309
Abstract: An industrial luminaire assembly having an electrical assembly and an optical assembly pivotally mounted and latched thereto for quick installation and removal. The optical assembly also providing for compression of its glass prismatic reflector to strengthen it, and including a bottom closure pivotally mounted to provide access to the interior of the optical assembly for relamping.

  • Patent number: 4613260
Abstract: An annular thread cutting die head for a power driven threading machine is comprised of an annular support plate supporting a plurality of radially displacable thread cutting dies spaced apart about the axis of the die head, and an annular cam plate assembly coaxial with and pivotal relative to the support plate to radially displace the cutting dies. The cam plate assembly is spring biased to pivot relative to the support plate in the direction to radially retract the cutting dies, and is selectively operable relative to the support plate to achieve the cutting of a straight thread or to achieve the cutting of a tapered thread. In connection with the cutting of a tapered thread, receding replacement of the cutting tools is controlled by a unique cam arrangement on the machine carriage engaged by the cam plate assembly under the spring bias and independent of torque imposed on the die head during the threading operation.

  • Patent number: 4606249
Abstract: A reaming tool is mountable on the tooling carriage of a power driven threading machine for continuous motion displacement about two axes and between use and storage positions in which a reaming blade of the tool is respectively coaxial with a tubular workpiece to be reamed and supported laterally outwardly adjacent the tooling carriage. The reaming tool is comprised of an elongate arm carrying the reaming blade, and one end of the arm is mounted on the tooling carriage for pivotal movement of the arm about a first axis laterally offset and parallel to the workpiece axis and a second axis perpendicular to the first axis.

  • Patent number: 4581783
Abstract: A base for supporting a rotatable spindle shaft and chuck assembly of a motor driven threading machine for rotation about a spindle axis is comprised of axially spaced apart upright support members transverse to the spindle axis and rigidly interconnected by means of a torque tube having opposite ends welded thereto. The spindle shaft, which carries chuck units on opposite ends thereof, extends through the torque tube and is rotatably supported by bearings adjacent the upright support members. A pair of support rails extend through openings therefor in the support members and have ends extending radially outwardly from one of the support members to provide a cantilever support arrangement for the tooling carriage of the threading machine. Additionally, the support members, portions of the support rails therebetween, and the torque tube facilitate the mounting of drive motor and gear box units for the machine.
