  • Patent number: 4159091
Abstract: The device comprises two armatures one of which is for connection to a support and the other is for connection to a suspended element. A block of elastic material is interposed between, and defines with, the two armatures a closed enclosure. A partition wall provided with at least one calibrated orifice is mounted by the periphery thereof on a first of the armatures and divides the enclosure into two chambers. A liquid fills one of the chambers and at least a part of the other chamber. The partition wall has a part which is movable with respect to the first armature in a direction perpendicular to the mean plane of the partition wall. The first armature has a stop for limiting the extent of the movement of the partition wall.

  • Patent number: 4154206
Abstract: The present invention relates to a suspension device for a rotating machine lacking balance, comprising at least one elastic support defining a first chamber filled with liquid, wherein said first chamber is connected to a second chamber, likewise filled with liquid, closed by a flexible wall subjected to alternate displacements of frequency and phase equal to the frequency of the lack of balance to be compensated.

  • Patent number: 4074525
Abstract: The exhaust pipe includes a flexible section adjacent its upstream end and is connected to the exhaust manifold. A support fixed to the part of the exhaust pipe immediately adjacent the flexible section is connected to the engine by a flexible connection.

  • Patent number: 4044606
Abstract: The thickness of a layer of oil on water is obtained in digital form, which in one embodiment is recorded on a visually identifiable analog type display chart. An underwater ultrasonic transducer arrangement produces and receives pulses, which are digitalized and processed in a digital computer for thickness calculation and organization for the display. To handle a wide range of signal conditions that need be detected at various interfaces, such as water to oil and the oil to air, a dynamic threshold is computed that permits the detection and processing of signals appearing at two diverse interfaces in conventional signal processing circuits that therefore can handle a large range of different signal conditions, thus permitting measurement of the thickness of a liquid layer of oil on the surface of water. The thickness of other fluids interposed between fluids having dissimilar acoustical properties can also be obtained.

  • Patent number: 4017134
Abstract: A chassis for electronic equipment comprises a frame structure including two similar spaced uprights connected respectively at their tops and at their bottoms by two similar rigid frames and at least one cell for the reception of circuit boards, said cell comprising a floor and a ceiling between which the boards can be held, said floor and ceilings being slidably supported on brackets releasably fixed in upright grooves in said upright.

  • Patent number: 3970162
Abstract: Two series of separate elastically yieldable blocks having different stiffnesses are disposed between the damper and the vehicle body and between the damper and the engine-drive unit. The accelerations transmitted to the body and to the engine are then substantially equal. In this way, the relative movements between the engine-drive unit and the body and the resulting vibrations are reduced while the noises transmitted by the engine through its suspension are also reduced.

  • Patent number: 3957128
Abstract: The suspension device tends to eliminate the vibrations due to movements between the engine and the body. The body is connected to each shockabsorber by a chamber having a variable volume and a wall constituted by an elastically yieldable block whereas the engine is connected to the body through other variable volume chambers, each chamber being connected to the adjacent chamber by a pipe and the assembly being filled with an incompressible fluid.

  • Patent number: 3953827
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the position of a plurality of seismic echo receivers on a towed cable by interpolating values obtained by measuring, by means of at least one device positioned among said receivers, the angle between the tangent to the cable and a fixed and known direction. The measuring device can also include apparatus for measuring its depth and its distance from a generator of seismic waves. This provides for more effective use of processes which involve the addition of seismic traces in marine seismic prospecting.
