  • Patent number: 4583416
Abstract: A speed-reduction transmission for a reciprocating piston aircraft engine, in which the oil-collecting space of the speed-reduction transmission housing arranged between the piston engine and the propeller is connected with the oil-collecting space of the crankcase of the engine by way of an overflow pipe; the upper part of the speed-reduction transmission housing is in communication with the air space of the crankcase by way of a vent pipe; the vent pipe and the overflow pipe are so arranged that their functions are interchanged during upside-down flights of the aircraft and the oil volume disposed in the bottom of the transmission housing remains constant.

  • Patent number: 4565107
Abstract: A ball-type through-passage serves for the pivotal support of the gearshifting lever of a motor vehicle, which consists of two ball halves split along the gear-shifting lever and abutting thereat and of a two-partite bearing housing receiving the same. In order to compensate for radial play, two O-rings are inserted between the ball halves and the gearshifting lever. For the axial fixation radial pins are formed-on at the ball halves, which engage in radial bores of the gearshifting lever.

  • Patent number: 4091432
Abstract: A closed loop operational amplifier circuit for providing a constant current in the closed loop for generating a precision constant current through an unknown resistance for measuring the resultant voltage drop across the resistance. The closed loop circuit having a compliance circuit with a high voltage diode for preventing damage to a transistor in the compliance circuit in one polarity direction and a current limiting circuit including the transistor for preventing damage to the transistor from high voltage in the opposite polarity direction, and a voltage comparison circuit responsive to a high voltage in the opposite direction for reverse biasing the high voltage transistor to prevent it from entering the secondary breakdown mode.

  • Patent number: 4050558
Abstract: A synchronizing device for change-speed gears including a gearshift sleeve carrier mounted for rotation with a driven shaft and a gearshift sleeve axially slidable via a gear-tooth system over a corresponding gear-tooth system on the sleeve carrier to respective positions in engagement with clutch bodies of a gear to be shifted. In order to prevent unintentional disengagement of the gearshift sleeve from an engaged position interlocking the sleeve carrier and the clutch body, the interface of the gear-teeth at the sleeve carrier and the sleeve are geometrically configured to effectively bias or force the sleeve into the engaged position.

  • Patent number: 4014326
Abstract: A compact respirator system for use either connected to stationary outlets for breathing gas or connected as a portable unit to a tube of breathing gas. A breathing bladder and a valve block form a unit that may be disposed either with the breathing bladder in a pressure chamber for conventional respiratory operation or with the breathing bladder removed from the pressure chamber for manual actuation. A pulse transmitter actuates a pressure pulse generator for providing the pressure chamber with intermittent pulses for compressing and expanding, respectively, the breathing bladder for said conventional respiratory operation. An automatic valve keeps open a pilot pressure channel to an expiratory valve forming a portion of a pilot valve, which latter also includes a patient-triggered valve for initiating rapid breathing assistance if the patient shows signs of beginning to breathe spontaneously.

  • Patent number: 3948368
Abstract: Synchronizing apparatus for change-speed gears including a slotted resilient correcting ring interposed between two change-speed gear members for attenuating the transfer of rotating shifting forces therebetween. The free ends of the correcting ring are offset from one another a predetermined distance in a direction parallel to the central longitudinal axis of the correcting ring so as to provide an axial pretensioning force against the freely rotatable gear to prevent rattling thereof. In a particularly preferred embodiment the axial offset of the free ends of the correcting ring is greater in the unstressed condition than in the assembled in-use position. In another preferred embodiment, the unstressed axial offset of the free ends of the correcting ring is substantially the same as the distance between the members abutting against the correcting ring in the in-use position.
