  • Patent number: 11504927
Abstract: Introduced here are methods, apparatuses, and systems for mitigating the contact pressure applied to a human body by the surface of an object, such as a chair, bed, or table. A pressure-mitigation apparatus can include a series of chambers whose pressure can be individually varied. When placed between a patient and a contact surface, a controller can vary the contact pressure on the human body by controllably inflating one or more chambers, deflating one or more chambers, or any combination thereof. By monitoring the pressure in each chamber over time, the controller can also gain an enhanced understanding of movement(s) performed by the human body when positioned on the pressure-mitigation apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11507443
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses related to a memory fault map for an accelerated neural network. An artificial neural network can be accelerated by operating memory outside of the memory's baseline operating parameters. Doing so, however, often increases the amount of faulty data locations in the memory. Through creation and use of the disclosed fault map, however, artificial neural networks can be trained more quickly and using less bandwidth, which reduces the neural networks' sensitivity to these additional faulty data locations. Hardening a neural network to these memory faults allows the neural network to operate effectively even when using memory outside of that memory's baseline operating parameters.

  • Patent number: 11504937
Abstract: A manually-operated dunnage conversion apparatus includes a housing with an outlet opening, a supply of slit sheet stock material supported within the housing for dispensing from the outlet opening, and a pair of opposed expansion members rotatably coupled to the housing for rotation about respective, parallel expansion axes between the supply and the outlet opening. The expansion members are biased towards each other via a biasing member to provide a gripping force on sheet stock material fed therebetween to apply friction to the sheet stock material that causes the sheet stock material to expand in length and thickness as an operator pulls the sheet stock material from the outlet opening in the housing. With the possible exception of the biasing member, the apparatus may be made of paper-based products, making the apparatus recyclable, reusable, and composed of a renewable resource, as well as inexpensive to manufacture.

  • Patent number: 11507741
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide the ability to track document versioning. Before executing an open operation on a first document version, a first before-hash is generated. After executing the open operation, a first after-hash is generated. Before executing a save operation, the first before-hash is acquired, and after execution (resulting in a second document version), a second after-hash of the second document version is generated. A version hash linked graph (VHLG) is generated and includes document nodes for the different document versions where each node includes a hash of that document version, a user-application node corresponding to the user or application that executed the operations, and edges connecting the nodes (e.g., that identify the operation and/or the document lineage) Based on the VHLG, a full history of a document is provided.

  • Patent number: 11507828
Abstract: Training a machine learning model such as a neural network, which can automatically extract a hypernym from unstructured data, is disclosed. A preliminary candidate list of hyponym-hypernym pairs can be parsed from the corpus. A preliminary super-term—sub-term glossary can be generated from the corpus, the preliminary super-term—sub-term glossary containing one or more super-term—sub-term pairs. A super-term—sub-term pair can be filtered from the preliminary super-term—sub-term glossary, responsive to detecting that the super-term—sub-term pair is not a candidate for hyponym-hypernym pair, to generate a final super-term—sub-term glossary. The preliminary candidate list of hyponym-hypernym pairs and the final super-term—sub-term glossary can be combined to generate a final list of hyponym-hypernym pairs. An artificial neural network can be trained using the final list of hyponym-hypernym pairs as a training data set, the artificial neural network trained to identify a hypernym given new text data.

  • Patent number: 11507572
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for interpreting natural language search queries that account for contextual relevance of words of the search query that would ordinarily not be processed, including, for example, processing each word of the query. Each term or phrase is associated with a respective part of speech, and a frequency of occurrence of a combination of adjacent terms or phrases public domain is determined. A relevance of each term is then determined based on its respective type of term and frequency of occurrence in the public domain. The natural language search query is then interpreted based on the importance or relevance of each term.
