Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) front-end apparatus is provided. In examples discussed herein, the RF front-end apparatus can be configured to communicate RF signals in millimeter wave (mmWave) RF frequencies (e.g., ?12 GHz). The RF front-end apparatus includes an RF front-end circuit and an antenna element. The RF front-end circuit includes a transmit path and a receive path for transmitting and receiving RF signals, respectively. The antenna element includes an input port(s) and an output port(s) that are coupled to the transmit path and the receive path, respectively. The antenna element can be configured to enable impedance matching between the input port(s) and the transmit path, as well as between the output port(s) and the receive path. As a result, it may be possible to reduce insertion losses in the RF front-end circuit, thus helping to improve performance of the RF front-end apparatus, particularly in support of mmWave communications.

  • Publication number: 20190388034
Abstract: The present invention provides systems, methods, devices and kits for assessing the level of pulmonary disease in individual lung compartments. A lung compartment comprises a subportion of a lung, such as a lobe, a segment or a subsegment, for example. By measuring individual lung compartments, the level of disease of the pulmonary system may be more precisely defined by determining values of disease parameters reflective of individual subportions or compartments of a lung. Likewise, compartments may be separately imaged to provide further measurement information. Once individual compartments are characterized, they may be compared and ranked based on a number of variables reflecting, for example, level of disease or need for treatment. Such comparison may be aided by simultaneous display of such variables or images on a visual display. Further, the same tests may be performed on the lung as a whole or on both lungs and to determine the affect of the diseased lung compartments on the overall lung performance.

  • Publication number: 20190388597
Abstract: An intra-cardiac device component (ICDC) is inserted into one to four chambers of the heart. The ICDC in the right atrium and left atrium expands while the tricuspid and mitral valves are open during the first-time epoch. The expansion in the right atrium and left atrium pushes blood from these atriums into their respective ventricles. The ICDC in the right ventricle and left ventricle contracts at this time epoch and the pulmonary and aortic valves are closed. In the succeeding time epoch, the ICDC in the right atrium and left atrium contracts while the tricuspid and mitral valves are closed, and the right atrium and left atrium are filling with blood. The ICDC in the right ventricle and left ventricle expand in this time epoch while the pulmonary and aortic valves are open. This sequence increases blood flow into the pulmonary artery and aorta and helps to remedy the decreased ability to pump blood in heart failure patients.

  • Publication number: 20190392340
Abstract: Novel and useful electronic and magnetic control of several quantum structures that provide various control functions. An electric field provides control and is created by a voltage applied to a control terminal. Alternatively, an inductor or resonator provides control. An electric field functions as the main control and an auxiliary magnetic field provides additional control on the control gate. The magnetic field is used to control different aspects of the quantum structure. The magnetic field impacts the spin of the electron by tending to align to the magnetic field. The Bloch sphere is a geometrical representation of the state of a two-level quantum system and defined by a vector in x, y, z spherical coordinates.

  • Publication number: 20190390797
Abstract: Low-PIM polymeric cable support brackets used to support cables feeding antennas and other types of equipment at cellular base stations (cell sites). A variety of polymeric mounting brackets, cable ties, cable support blocks, and stackable hangers are used to eliminate loose fitting metal-to-metal contact points that tend to create PIM. The mounting bracket body may include standoff features allowing the same bracket to securely attach to poles of different diameter, an external hex profile for receiving a wrench, and a fitted receptacle for receiving a bracket end fastener to facilitate installation. Polymeric cable ties fed through cable slots in the mounting bracket may be positioned to prevent the bracket end fastener from falling out of the fitted receptacle. The low-PIM cable support brackets are suitable for use within 1 carrier wavelength behind and around base station antennas where conventional cable brackets have been identified as problematic PIM interference sources.

  • Publication number: 20190392341
Abstract: A novel and useful quantum computing machine architecture that includes a classic computing core as well as a quantum computing core. A programmable pattern generator executes sequences of instructions that control the quantum core. In accordance with the sequences, a pulse generator functions to generate the control signals that are input to the quantum core to perform quantum operations. A partial readout of the quantum state in the quantum core is generated that is subsequently re-injected back into the quantum core to extend decoherence time. Access gates control movement of quantum particles in the quantum core. Errors are corrected from the partial readout before being re-injected back into the quantum core. Internal and external calibration loops calculate error syndromes and calibrate the control pulses input to the quantum core.
