  • Publication number: 20180074967
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a non-transitory machine-readable medium that stores a program. The program receives a request for a logical data structure of an in-memory database. The program further determines a size of fragments of memory for the logical data structure based on a set of criteria. The program also requests a set of segments of memory. Upon receiving the set of segments of memory, the program further generates a plurality of fragments of memory from the set of segments of memory based on the size of fragments of memory. The program also groups the plurality of fragments of memory into the logical data structure. The plurality of fragments of memory are configured to store data of the logical data structure. The program further loads the plurality of fragments of memory into memory.

  • Publication number: 20180053334
Abstract: In order to prevent color bleeding, a method of volume rendering a three-dimensional (3D) dataset includes identifying, by a processor, a mask that defines a segmented volume within the 3D dataset. The processor identifies a position within the 3D dataset at or adjacent to a boundary defined by the mask, identifies a plurality of voxels within the 3D dataset that are adjacent to the identified position within the 3D dataset, and determine, for each voxel of the plurality of voxels, whether the respective voxel is inside or outside of the identified mask. The processor determines, for each voxel of the plurality of voxels, a weight for the respective voxel based on the determination of whether the respective voxel is inside or outside of the identified mask. The processor determines a voxel value for the identified position based on the determined weights and voxel values for the plurality of voxels, respectively.

  • Patent number: 9646409
Abstract: A display data set depicting a three-dimensional source data set of display parameters is generated through volume rendering. Integration distance is subdivided based on a fixed predetermined target sampling distance independent of a desired sampling distance. The number of subsections minus one correspond to integrations over different subsections with front and back values of the display parameter as a target sampling distance opacity. A contribution of the volume-rendering integral and a target sampling distance color coefficient are based on the target sampling distance opacity. Target sampling distance opacities and target sampling distance color coefficients are determined based on pre-integration tables for contributions of the volume-rendering integral. Third opacities are calculated and converted to the desired sampling distance from target sampling distance opacities and the ratio of desired sampling distance to target sampling distance.

  • Patent number: 9470786
Abstract: Methods for detecting the flight path of projectiles involve a sequence of N target detections that include detecting the measured velocities and azimuthal angle bearings of the projectile along the flight path of the projectile by Doppler radar at the times tn, wherein n=1 . . . N, and determining the flight path and the direction of motion of the projectile are from these measurements. The measurements are adapted in a first nonlinear parameter fit to an analytical relationship of the time curve of the radial velocity of the projectile while the projectile passes through the detection range of the radar and so that the absolute projectile velocity, minimum distance of the project flight path from the radar, time at which the projectile passes the point having the minimum distance, flight path direction in azimuth, and flight path direction in elevation can be estimated.

  • Publication number: 20160268999
Abstract: A tunable Q resonator using a capacitive-piezoelectric transducer provides a flexible top electrode above an AlN resonator. The top electrode can be pulled electrostatically towards the resonator and substrate, forming a frictional contact with either the resonator or the combined resonator-electrode structure to the substrate, allowing for electrical tuning the Q of the resonator. With a sufficient electrostatic bias voltage Vb, the resonator may be completely turned OFF, allowing for an integrated switchable AlN resonator. Such switchable resonator may be integrated into a radio frequency (RF) front end as a digitally selectable band pass filter element, obviating the need for ancillary micromechanical switches in the signal path. The device has been demonstrated with a Q approaching 9,000, together with ON/OFF switchability and electromechanical coupling up to 0.63%.

  • Patent number: 9269123
Abstract: A method, system and product are disclosed for volume rendering of medical images on a shared memory system implemented on a multi-socket mainboard with multiple multi-core processors and multiple last level caches, cores that share a cache being united in a socket. The method includes decomposing the image space to be used for rendering in regions, each region including a plurality of tiles; assigning two sockets to each of the decomposed regions; determining a tile enumeration scheme for a region; rendering all tiles within a region according to a determined tile enumeration scheme on the assigned two sockets until the respective region is finished; if a region is finished, assigning the two sockets to another region; and if no region is left, splitting an existing region of un-rendered tiles into sub-regions according to a splitting scheme and applying the steps recursively for the sub-regions.
