  • Patent number: 10360039
Abstract: A mechanism for predicated execution of instructions within a parallel processor executing multiple threads or data lanes is disclosed. Each thread or data lane executing within the parallel processor is associated with a predicate register that stores a set of 1-bit predicates. Each of these predicates can be set using different types of predicate-setting instructions, where each predicate setting instruction specifies one or more source operands, at least one operation to be performed on the source operands, and one or more destination predicates for storing the result of the operation. An instruction can be guarded by a predicate that may influence whether the instruction is executed for a particular thread or data lane or how the instruction is executed for a particular thread or data lane.

  • Patent number: 10349007
Abstract: A video display hub is mounted in a common household area such as a kitchen or family room. During times that have been designated as being available for communications, devices in first and second households exchange and display blurred video, allowing users in each household to see vague shapes and movements of the other household. Upon noticing activity, a user in the first household may initiate a video conversation, causing the video from the first household to be unblurred and causing unobscured voice to be transmitted to the second household. A user in the second household may respond by allowing the video conversation to be fully enabled, allowing the video from the second household to be unblurred and unobscured voice to be transmitted back to the first household.

  • Publication number: 20190194825
Abstract: In a method of electrospinning nanofibres, a non-conductive laminate fibre collection structure (22) is placed on the surface of a conductive collector (18, FIG. 1). The laminate structure has a base layer (26) proximal to the collector and a fibre support layer (24). A pair of spaced first apertures (32) and a second aperture (34) located between them are defined through the fibre support layer (24). A pair of spaced third apertures (38) are defined through the base layer (26), each third aperture being aligned with one of the first apertures to define an opening (40) through the laminate structure. During electro spinning, the fibre is attracted to one of the openings (40) where it forms a bridge across the respective first aperture (32). A charge in the collected fibre builds up until the fibre is repelled and it moves to the nearest lowest potential region which is the second opening on the opposite side of the second aperture (34).
