  • Publication number: 20150014014
Abstract: A fastener installation tool including a cylinder assembly, a handle/sleeve assembly, and a tool head. The handle/sleeve assembly includes a handle having a bore and a sleeve positioned within the bore. An inner wall of the sleeve includes a first portion with a first inner diameter and a second portion with a second inner diameter. The sleeve includes an outer wall having a first portion with a first outer diameter and a second portion with a second outer diameter, the first outer diameter of the first portion of the outer wall of the sleeve being greater than the second outer diameter of the second portion of the outer wall of the sleeve. A space is formed between the second portion of the outer wall of the sleeve and the second portion of the inner wall of the handle, which enables the sleeve to flex during operation of the tool.

  • Publication number: 20140312376
Abstract: A light emitting device includes a light emitting diode (“LED”) that emits light having a dominant wavelength in the blue color range, and a recipient luminophoric medium that is configured to down-convert at least some of the light emitted by the LED. The recipient luminophoric medium includes a green phosphor that down-converts the radiation emitted by the LED to radiation having a peak wavelength that is between about 525 nanometers and about 550 nanometers, a yellow phosphor having a wavelength peak that is between about 550 nanometers and about 580 nanometers, and a red (Ca1-x-ySrxEu2+y)SiAlN3 phosphor. The (Ca1-x-ySrxEu2+y)SiAlN3 phosphor has a europium content y of between about 0.003 and 0.009 and a strontium content x of between about 0.150 and 0.300.

  • Publication number: 20140259585
Abstract: A nose assembly for a fastener installation tool including an anvil, a collet, and a drawbar having a primary bearing. A secondary bearing is positioned within the collet and located intermediate the primary bearing and jaws of the collet. The secondary bearing is offset from the fastener centerline by a first distance and from a pulling tool centerline axis defined by a longitudinal axis of the drawbar by a second distance. In a pull position, the primary bearing remains engaged with the anvil during a loaded stroke and limits anvil deflection relative to the fastener centerline, while the secondary bearing remains engaged with the collet during the loaded stroke and limits deflection of the collet relative to the fastener centerline. In a return position, the primary bearing remains engaged with the anvil during a return stroke, while the secondary bearing remains engaged with the collet during the return stroke.

Abstract: Neurosurgical devices including or used with cannulas or catheters and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. The neurosurgical devices can include, for example, a cannula having a main portion and an angle-forming member proximate a distal end of the main portion. The angle-forming member can be configured to transition from a substantially straight configuration while the cannula is advanced through tissue along a substantially straight first portion of a path to an angled configuration when the angle-forming member reaches an end of the substantially straight first portion of the path. The neurosurgical devices also can include, for example, a neurosurgical catheter including a surface disrupter, an elongated macerator, or a lateral opening. Neurosurgical catheterization portals also are disclosed. The neurosurgical catheterization portals can, for example, have an adjustable portal that is movable relative to a body to accommodate different entry angles of a catheterization path.

  • Patent number: 8069538
Abstract: A decorative charm and fastener system and its method for use upon an item to be worn by the user or a pet animal; the item to be worn may be a shoe, an item of clothing (including shirts, hats and caps, or the like), or a pet collar. The fundamental embodiment features a charm part and a base part that may be connected together on opposite sides of the item to be worn, with the item situated between the base part and the charm part. The system also includes an elastically compressible washer member that is placed upon the charm part. The compressible washer promotes a secure, yet temporary, connection between the charm part and base part when those respective parts are installed upon an item. Assortments of different charms thus are interchangeable for temporary attachment to the base part. Specialized alternative versions of the apparatus are disclosed for use upon the shoelaces of a shoe, as a pet collar.
