Abstract: An electronic device includes a touch-sensitive surface, a display, and a camera sensor. The device displays a message region for displaying a message conversation and receives a request to add media to the message conversation. Responsive to receiving the request, the device displays a media selection interface concurrently with at least a portion of the message conversation. The media selection interface includes a plurality of affordances for selecting media for addition to the message conversation, the plurality of affordances includes a live preview affordance, at least a subset of the plurality of affordances includes thumbnail representations of media available for adding to the message conversation, and the live preview affordance is associated with a live camera preview. Responsive to detecting selection of the live preview affordance, the device captures a new image based on the live camera preview and selects the new image for addition to the message conversation.

Abstract: A service for providing messaging extension apps can be an online store that can be browsed and searched for the apps. The store uses extension app identifiers which are related to app identifiers that are sent between devices in a conversation of messages so that a receiving device can, when it does not have the extension app installed to interact with received content, use the extension app identifier to download and install the required extension app. In one embodiment, the download and install can occur while the messaging app remains the foreground app, and the messaging app adds an icon of the newly installed extension app into a browsable tray in the UI of the messaging app.

Abstract: An electronic device displays a messaging user interface of a message application, including a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and a plurality of other users, a message-input area, and a plurality of avatars corresponding to the plurality of other users. The plurality of avatars are displayed as a stack of avatars, with a first avatar of avatars displayed on the top of the stack of avatars. Abstract: An accessory hub joins accessories such as towel bars and robe hooks to a wall. In order to attach the accessory to the wall, a collet is fastened to the wall. The accessory hub may be joined to the collet with a spring-loaded button extending from the collet that is inserted into a receiver in the accessory hub. A first cleat portion on the collet mates with a second cleat portion on the accessory hub further securing the accessory hub to the collet. The accessory may then be attached to the accessory hub. The accessory hub may be detached from the collet without damaging the wall by depressing the button into the collet and disengaging the first and second cleat portions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to agriculture, and particularly relates to a process for obtaining a root mass from plant seeds which are subjected to particular conditions of germination in hydroponic culture, and once germinated, placed in conditions that favor the development of its root system. The root mass thus obtained can have multiple industrial applications such as material alternative to wood for thermal and acoustic insulation and fire-resistant construction.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for initiating a video conference using a first mobile device. The method presents, during an audio call through a wireless communication network with a second device, a selectable user-interface (UI) item on the first mobile device for switching from the audio call to the video conference. The method receives a selection of the selectable UI item. The method initiates the video conference without terminating the audio call. The method terminates the audio call before allowing the first and second devices to present audio and video data exchanged through the video conference.

Duration of sharing the location can be user-configurable. The second mobile device may or may not share a location of the second device for display in the IM program executing on the first mobile device.

Abstract: A messaging system in one embodiment includes a messaging app and one or more sticker extension apps configured to create a sticker image and render a sticker image that is displayed in a view hosted by the messaging app. The messaging app can launch, from a browsable view that includes one or more sticker extension apps, one or more of the sticker extension apps, and a sticker image created by one of the sticker extension apps can be communicated between the sticker extension app and the messaging app through an interprocess communication.

Abstract: Aspects of subject technology provide systems and methods for generation and distribution of a stable identifier associated with multiple aliases of a user account. The stable identifier may be provided to various electronic devices by a server, responsive to requests associated with communications to those devices from one of the associated aliases. In this way, messaging applications can utilize the stable identifier to merge conversations from a single user having multiple aliases, and secure access to a secure device can be provided to an authorized user, even if the authorized user attempts access from an unauthorized account alias.

Abstract: A system and method are described for establishing two-way communication between proxy devices that have a certain set of hardware and/or capabilities allowing the proxy devices to send and receive SMS/MMS messages using cellular networks on behalf of proxied devices that lack the hardware and/or capabilities. The proxy device can receive a message from a service provider. The message may be associated with information, and the proxy device can determine a recipient of the message based at least in part on the information. The proxy device can determine whether delivery of the message to the recipient is restricted and, if not, transmit the message the proxied device and/or the recipient.
