Abstract: For a first device participating in a video communications session with a second device, some embodiments provide a method that receives sets of encoding features supported by each of one or more decoders of the second device. The method selects an encoder for the video communication session from several encoders available to the first device. The method selects a set of encoding features of the selected encoder based on the sets of encoding features received from the second device. The method transmits an encoded video bitstream to the second device along with information identifying the selected features in order for the second device to select a decoder to decode the bitstream.

Abstract: Bacterial cultures of Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans are isolated, maintained and identified and used in the treatment of materials containing sulfur-compounds, such as contaminated and/or spent catalysts with elemental sulfur (S). Bacterial cultures of Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans exhibit sulfur-oxidizing activity particularly useful in the transformation of elemental sulfur (S) to sulfates (SO4), a compound soluble in water (H2O) and usable in industry. The bacterial cultures of Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans are mainly used as a biological or biotechnological procedure for the treatment of contaminated and/or spent catalysts with elemental sulfur (S) hazardous contaminated wastes that are mainly, but not exclusively, from the Claus process that operates at environmental conditions; does not impact the environment or ecosystem; and recovers 91-100% of the elemental sulfur (S) in sulfate form (SO4).

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for initiating a video conference using a first mobile device. The method presents, during an audio call through a wireless communication network with a second device, a selectable user-interface (UI) item on the first mobile device for switching from the audio call to the video conference. The method receives a selection of the selectable UI item. The method initiates the video conference without terminating the audio call. The method terminates the audio call before allowing the first and second devices to present audio and video data exchanged through the video conference.

Abstract: The present invention describes a combined liquid absorbent system to capture gaseous CO2. The said combination is given by the mixture of an IL and an amino acid aqueous solution. This mixture has an improved CO2 absorption performance with respect to the separate components that are part of it. These components can be regenerated and reused in several absorption cycles without losing absorption capacity.

Abstract: Security system against the risk of fire comprising a first fire detection element (1) connected by a flexible bridge (3) to a second fire detection element (2), with the first fire detection element (1) having some first means of lighting (4), while the second fire detection element (2) has some means of lighting (5), where the means of lighting are LEDs, in different colours, whereby achieving an easy to position detection system without any installation, that is valid for the deaf and provides information on escape routes. The system is designed to be mounted on the top edge of doors or elements of passage.

Soundtrack synchronization data from a user computing device is transmitted to a server, which determines a position within the primary soundtrack based on the soundtrack synchronization data. The selected secondary soundtrack is streamed to the client computing device based on the determined position, and played for a user of the client computing device.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting and analyzing spikes in network jitter and the estimation of a jitter buffer target size is disclosed. Detected spikes may be classified as jump spikes or slope spikes, and a clipped size of detected spikes may be used in the estimation of the jitter buffer target. Network characteristics and conditions may also be used in the estimation of the jitter buffer target size. Samples may be modified during playback adaptation to improve audio quality and maintain low delay of a receive chain.

Responsive to detecting selection of the live preview affordance, the device captures a new image based on the live camera preview and selects the new image for addition to the message conversation.

Abstract: In one embodiment of the invention, service providers generate bloom filters with the user ID codes of registered users and exchange the bloom filters with one another. In response to a request to locate a first user, a first service provider will query its own registration database to determine if the first user is registered with the first service provider. If the first user is not registered with the first service provider, then the first service provider will query its bloom filters to identify other service providers with which the first user may be registered. A positive response from a bloom filter indicates that the first user may or may not be registered with the service provider associated with that bloom filter, and a negative response indicates with certainty that the first user is not registered with the service provider associated with that bloom filter.

Abstract: The described embodiments include a message server that is configured to send, to multiple receiving electronic devices, corresponding messages that each include a payload acquired from a single request message received from a client electronic device. In these embodiments, the request message received from the client electronic device includes a push token for each of the receiving electronic devices and the payload. Upon receiving the request message, the message server generates, for a receiving electronic device associated with each push token, a message that includes the payload. The message server then sends each message to the corresponding receiving electronic device. In this way, the message server “fans out,” to the multiple receiving electronic devices, corresponding messages that each include the payload from the single request message.

Abstract: A device provides user interfaces for a messaging application. The device receives a first message and displays a representation of the first message, where the first message is scheduled to be deleted upon satisfaction of expiration criteria. The device displays an affordance for keeping the first message. In accordance with a determination that the affordance was selected prior to the satisfaction of the expiration criteria, the device keeps the first message. In accordance with a determination that the expiration criteria has been satisfied without detecting selection of the affordance, the device ceases to display the representation of the first message on the display.
