    Abstract: An eddy current non-destructive evaluation system for an electrode film material includes: at least one control module configured to generate a transmission signal; and a first pair of coils. The first pair of coils includes: a first coil disposed adjacent the electrode film material and configured to operate in a transmit mode, and, based on the transmission signal, to generate an electromagnetic field that passes through the electrode film material; and a second coil disposed adjacent and on an opposite side of the electrode film material as the first coil and configured to operate in a receive mode. The second coil is configured to generate a electromagnetic field voltage based on the electromagnetic field. The at least one control module is configured, based on the electromagnetic field voltage, to at least one of determine a thickness of the electrode film material and detect a defect of the electrode film material.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for monitoring properties of a web during a roll-to-roll manufacturing process. The methods may include moving the web past a first roller such that the web contacts the first roller, wherein the first roller includes a first contact strip formed of an electrically conductive material and extends circumferentially about the first roller, applying a voltage to the first contact strip while moving the web past the first roller, such that the voltage conducts through the web to a second contact strip, measuring the voltage received by the second contact strip, determining local resistance values relative to positions of the web based on the difference in the voltage applied to the first contact strip and the voltage received by the second contact strip, and determining at least one property of the web relative to the positions of the web based on the local resistance values.

    Abstract: What is disclosed is providing a multi-tenant virtual private network (VPN) to a plurality of tenants, wherein tenant VPNs are associated with respective private networks; identifying a first subnet that makes up a portion of a first private network associated with a first tenant of the plurality of tenants; translating the first subnet into a first multi-tenant VPN address translation (MT-NAT) subnet that is used as part of a first tenant VPN to extend the first private network across a public network; identifying a second subnet that makes up a portion of the first private network, that is not contiguous with the first subnet, and that has not been translated into the first MT-NAT; and translating the second subnet and a proper subnet of the first subnet into a second MT-NAT subnet without impacting subnet fragmentation of the first private network. Also disclosed are systems and methods for this.

A first optical gas imaging sensor is configured to generate images of a surface of the battery enclosure after the gas delivery system charges the battery enclosure with trace gas. The images are used to selectively detect a gas cloud adjacent to the surface of the of the battery enclosure. The gas cloud is used to determine a location of a gas leak on the surface of the battery enclosure.

The one-step induction welding assembly configuration also includes a plurality of induction coils that are energized to create an electromagnetic field that generates heat and joins the tray and the cooling component together at the joining interface, a layer of electrically insulating material disposed directly underneath the plurality of induction coils, and a die that exerts a clamping force against the tray of the battery enclosure.

    Abstract: A defect detection system includes: sensors of different types configured to scan battery electrode material and generate output signals including respective image data; a feature extractor module receives the output signals and performs feature extraction to fuse the image data of the output signals to generate feature maps for respective portions of the battery electrode material; a coarse detector, based on the feature maps, determines whether there are defects in the portions of the battery electrode material, and generates binary information for each of the portions indicating whether the portions include one or more defects; and a fine detector, based on the binary information and at least one of the feature maps and image data, classifies the defects. The baseplate includes a bottom plate and side walls. The side walls extend upward from the bottom plate and define a vacuum chamber with the top plate. The connector is attached to the baseplate and configured to be connected to a vacuum hose for drawing air from the vacuum chamber to pull the portion of the battery electrode to the top plate. The support member is attached to the baseplate and configured to hold the fixture assembly in place relative to a measuring device that measures a physical characteristic of the battery electrode.
