  • Publication number: 20200167557
Abstract: This disclosure relates to digitization of industrial inspection sheets. Digital scanning of paper based inspection sheets is a common process in factory settings. The paper based scans have data pertaining to millions of faults detected over several decades of inspection. The technical challenge ranges from image preprocessing and layout analysis to word and graphic item recognition. This disclosure provides a visual pipeline that works in the presence of both static and dynamic background in the scans, variability in machine template diagrams, unstructured shape of graphical objects to be identified and variability in the strokes of handwritten text. The pipeline incorporates a capsule and spatial transformer network based classifier for accurate text reading and a customized Connectionist Text Proposal Network (CTPN) for text detection in addition to hybrid techniques for arrow detection and dialogue cloud removal.

  • Publication number: 20200168253
Abstract: A data object is parsed into payload data packets so that each data packet is capable of being represented in a matrix barcode, sometimes referred to as a QR code. A matrix barcode is generated for each payload data packet and accompanying metadata used to reconstruct the data object. A matrix barcode movie is assembled from individual matrix barcodes. The resulting movie can be projected to a reader that captures the video sequence, examines each frame to extract payload data and corresponding metadata from each frame. The reader then assembles the separate payload data back into the original data object using the metadata and determines an action to take responsive to the data object. For example, a movie may be played, an image displayed, a file opened, or other action may be taken based on the file type and instructions in the metadata.

  • Patent number: 10664250
Abstract: Processor hardware detects when memory aliasing occurs, and assures proper operation of the code even in the presence of memory aliasing. Because the hardware can detect and correct for memory aliasing, this allows a compiler to make optimizations such as register promotion even in regions of the code where memory aliasing can occur. The compiled code is then executed on the processor hardware, which detects memory aliasing at run-time and assures proper operation of the code even when memory aliasing occurs.

  • Publication number: 20200159833
Abstract: In some examples, natural language processing based sign language generation may include ascertaining a speech video that is selected by a user, and determining, based on application of natural language processing to contents of the speech video, a plurality of sentences included in the speech video. For each sentence of the plurality of sentences identified in the speech video, a sign language sentence type, a sign language sentence structure, and a sentiment may be determined. For each sign language sentence structure and based on a corresponding sentiment, a sign video may be determined. Based on the sign video determined for each sentence of the plurality of sentences identified in the speech video, a combined sign video may be generated.

  • Publication number: 20200160889
Abstract: A neural network system that is trained to identify one or more portions of a media title where synchronization errors are likely to be present. The neural network system is trained based on a first set of media titles where synchronization errors are present and a second set of media titles where synchronization errors are absent. The second set of media titles can be generated by introducing synchronization errors into a set of media titles that otherwise lack synchronization errors. Via training, the neural network system learns to identify specific visual features included in one or more video frames and corresponding audio features that should be played back in synchrony with the associated visual features. Accordingly, when presented with a media title that includes synchronization errors, the neural network can indicate the specific frames where synchronization errors are likely to be present.

  • Patent number: 10660085
Abstract: Communicating wireless devices collaborate and utilize waveforms to enable secure channel estimation. To protect against a repetitive replay attack, some embodiments include Single Carrier Physical Layer (SC-PHY) waveforms and/or interpolated OFDM waveforms that do not include a repeatable or predictable structure. The waveforms are transmitted in ranging packet structures that are compatible with legacy 802.11 technologies that do not utilize secure channel estimation. The ranging packets are received in combination with the information previously exchanged to enable the receiving wireless system to securely determine a channel estimate (e.g., determine a channel estimate without an interloper transmission that is not an authentic first arrival path in a multi-path channel between the wireless systems). Thus, one or both of the wireless systems can estimate the distance between them (or range). Devices utilizing legacy 802.
