  • Patent number: 9769167
Abstract: A method includes authenticating a user of a client device and sending a response to the client device. The response includes browser code configured to retrieve respective first values for a plurality of device properties from the client device. The method also includes storing session information for the user in a memory. The session information includes the first values and criteria for triggering validation of the client device. The method further includes receiving a request, sent from a requesting device, to access a protected resource and determining whether the request is authenticated by determining that the request is associated with the session information and determining that the criteria has been met. Determining whether the request is authenticated also includes retrieving respective second values for the plurality of device properties from the requesting device, and determining whether the second values match the first values to authenticate the request.

  • Publication number: 20170261047
Abstract: A method of determining automatic transmission lubrication fluid flow rates corresponding to a running vehicle without direct oil flow measurements is disclosed. A set of in-vehicle clutch torques for a chosen clutch pack during a gear shift event for a set of shift conditions is obtained. A series of bench tests at various clutch-pack clearances and oil-flow rates for the set of shift conditions are performed. The clearances and oil-flow rates are adjusted in response to the measured magnitudes exceeding thresholds. In-vehicle transmission lubrication oil-flow rates are estimated at the chosen clutch pack for the set of shift conditions when the bench-test and in-vehicle clutch torques are less than the thresholds. The steps are reproduced for other engine conditions and fluid temperatures corresponding to other transmission gear positions. A functional map of in-vehicle oil flow rates are produced, and the transmission is adjusted based on the map.

  • Publication number: 20170264518
Abstract: An information handling system includes a memory to store a set of instructions, and a processor. The processor receives a maximum transmission unit (MTU) packet from a second information handling system via a first portion of a communication path, and in response to the information handling system not being a final destination information handling system compares a current MTU size of the communication path with a next MTU size of the communication path. In response to the next MTU size being smaller than the initial MTU size, the processor replaces the current MTU size with the next MTU size as the current MTU size, otherwise maintains the current MTU size as the current MTU size. The processor also provides the MTU packet to a next information handling system via the next portion of the communication path.

  • Patent number: 9762582
Abstract: A management component of a computing system evaluates end-users, end-user devices, and user accounts for access to provisioned-resources of the computing system. The management component utilizes device compliance attributes to form a device risk vector associated with an end-user device. The management component further utilizes resource compliance attributes to form a resource risk vector associated with a provisioned-resource. The management component forms a policy vector utilizing compliance attributes included in a compliance policy. The management component compares the device and resource risk vectors to the policy vector to determine a threat vector, and uses the threat vector to evaluate the end-users, end-user devices, and user accounts for risk of security breach, damage to, and/or loss of components of the computing system.

  • Patent number: 9759330
Abstract: A seal includes an annular mounting portion having an axial leg extending axially from the annular mounting portion toward the air side. A radial leg portion extends radially inward from an end of the axial leg. A lay down sealing lip extends radially inward and axially toward the oil side from an end of the radial leg portion. A dust lip extends from the end of the radial leg portion in a direction opposite the lay down sealing lip. When the oil side is under negative pressure and when the lay down sealing lip begins to lift radially off the shaft, there is a counterbalance force applied to the axial leg that is designed to be flexible enough that the oil side vacuum “rocks” the seal bringing the dust lip into contact with the shaft and blocking airflow.

  • Publication number: 20170250785
Abstract: A preamble of a physical layer (PHY) data unit that conforms to a first communication protocol is generated. The preamble includes a legacy field that is formatted according to a second communication protocol, and a signal field having a first orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol and a second OFDM symbol. The first OFDM symbol (i) immediately follows the legacy field and (ii) is modulated using binary phase shift keying (BPSK) modulation, whereas a third communication protocol specifies that an OFDM symbol, defined by the third communication protocol, that immediately follows the legacy field is modulated using BPSK modulation rotated by 90 degrees (Q-BPSK). The second OFDM symbol (i) immediately follows the first OFDM symbol and (ii) is modulated using Q-BPSK to indicate to a receiver device that conforms to the first communication protocol that the data unit conforms to the first communication protocol.
