  • Patent number: 9485300
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for managing file distribution between publishing and subscribing devices are provided. At a transporter system, a publish request for publishing a version of the dataset is received from a publisher device, wherein the publish request has a predefined format that includes an identity of the dataset, an identity of the version of the dataset, and an identity of a location for the version of the dataset. The transporter system updates a registry to associate the dataset with the identity of the dataset, version, and location, and the transporter system automatically publishes the dataset to any subscribers devices that have previously sent subscribe requests for such dataset to the transporter system.

  • Publication number: 20160314029
Abstract: A communication device and associated method which is configured to utilize an API constraint language for communication of resource constraints between different layers of a communication stack. A first layer of the communication stack executing in a first communication device may receive application programming interface (API) messages from a second layer of the communication stack also executing in the first communication device. In addition, the first layer may receive resource constraints with the one or more API messages. These one or more resource constraints may be generated by the second layer, or other software executing in the communication device. The first layer may then execute communication functions based on the API messages and subject to the resource constraints. The resource constraints may affect usage of hardware and/or software resources of the first communication device during execution of the communication functions.

  • Publication number: 20160314034
Abstract: An expert system extracts events associated with executing an application from log files generated by various topological resources in a distributed computing environment. The events are plotted as plot points on a time series graph. Patterns are identified in the plot points that are associated with application problems, along with the computing environment configurations both before the problem and after the problem was resolved. The difference in the configurations represents a corrective action for the application problem, and the expert system links the corrective action to the pattern. When a pattern repeats in conjunction with another application problem, the corrective action is identified as a possible solution to the new problem. A confidence level associated with the pattern/corrective action may be increased when a user accepts the corrective action and may be decreased when a user rejects the corrective action.

  • Patent number: 9480100
Abstract: A controller controls access points (APs) in a network of APs. The controller causes the first AP to establish an Internet Protocol (IP) tunnel with a router connected with a wired network and over which data packets are routed between the wired network and a client device wirelessly connected to the first AP. The controller receives a roam indication that the client device is wirelessly connected with a second AP. In response to the indication, the controller instructs the first AP to maintain the IP tunnel with the router and instructs the second AP to establish an inter-AP tunnel with the first AP in order to route traffic between the wired network and the client device over both the IP tunnel and the inter-AP tunnel.

  • Publication number: 20160306399
Abstract: Integrated protective mesh techniques are described herein. In one or more implementations, a computing device includes electronic components attached to circuitry for the computing device, such as a flexible printed circuit (FPC). The electronic components are sensitive devices such as audio components and other sensors that rely on exposure to environmental inputs for operation and that may be adversely impacted by external contaminants (water, dust, ferritic material, etc.). To provide for proper operation of the electronic components, a housing for the computing device includes a port for the electronic components that extends from outside of the housing to an interior of the housing to create a pathway through the housing. A protective mesh is assembled as an integrated component of the circuitry (e.g., FPC) and configured to align with the port to protect the electronic components from passage of contaminants through the pathway created by the port.
