  • Patent number: 9472456
Abstract: Methods for selectively etching titanium and titanium nitride are disclosed. In some embodiments the method involve exposing a workpiece to a first solution to remove titanium nitride, exposing the workpiece to a second solution to remove titanium, and exposing the workpiece to a third solution to remove residual titanium nitride, if any. The solutions are formulated such that they may selectively remove titanium and/or titanium nitride, while not etching or not substantially etching certain other materials such as dielectric materials, oxides, and metals other than titanium.

  • Patent number: 9471927
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for resolving values of parameters of tags. A map is created which includes the number of times each parameter is referenced by the tags in a web page requested by a client device. The parameters in the map are then sorted in a list in descending order based on the number of times referenced by the tags. The value for the parameter listed at the top of the list is looked up. If the value cannot be located, then those tags that are associated with this parameter are added to a list of tags to be ignored. By ignoring such tags in this list, the resolving of tag values for tags to be syndicated can occur more quickly and efficiently, including syndicating the tag data before the web page is completely loaded.

  • Patent number: 9469561
Abstract: A glass sheet is placed on a mold and heated to a first temperature. The glass sheet is then formed into a glass article having a three-dimensional shape using the mold. An isothermal heat transfer device comprising at least one heat pipe is provided in thermal contact with the mold. With the glass article on the mold and the isothermal heat transfer device in thermal contact with the mold, the glass article, mold, and isothermal heat transfer device are transported along a thermally-graded channel to cool the glass article to a second temperature. During the transporting, the isothermal heat transfer device transfers heat from a relatively hot region of the mold to a relatively cold region of the mold.

  • Publication number: 20160300245
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided, in a hierarchical feedback aggregation (HFA) system implemented in one or more data processing systems, for collecting and presenting user feedback information for a composite offering. A backend engine of the HFA system, implemented in a first data processing system, registers a hierarchical feedback model for the composite offering. A frontend engine of the HFA system, implemented in a second data processing system, receives user feedback for an identified component of the composite offering. The backend engine of the HFA system generates an aggregate user feedback score for the identified component based on a combination of the user feedback for the identified component and aggregate user feedback scores for child components of the identified component in the hierarchical feedback model. The backend engine outputs a representation of the generated aggregate user feedback score for the component to a user.

  • Patent number: 9466151
Abstract: A method and workstation are described for designing compensation in an orthodontic archwire in order to offset the bracket-slot-to-wire play and realize the disered displacement in a tooth from an initial position to the target position. Bracket-slot-to-wire play can reduce the effectiveness of an archwire in bringing the teeth of an orthodontic patient from malocclusion to desired target. Bracket-slot-to-wire play is the difference in volume between the size of a bracket slot, which is larger than the size of the archwire, and the size of the sliding segment of an archwire inserted in the bracket slot. Customized archwires comprise alternating sliding segments interconnected by segments with bends and/or twists in three-dimensional space. The sliding segments are placed in the bracket slots and exert forces on the brackets created by the segments with bends and/or twists for moving the teeth towards the target positions.

  • Patent number: 9467573
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for enabling personalized shared mobile phone usage when accessing data services within a wireless telecommunications network, including an illustrative example application of the invention as it relates to mobile subscribers who cannot afford a mobile phone handset in emerging markets. For instance, a prepaid wireless subscriber can have a personal phone number associated with their own billing account, which can be used to access data services on a wireless network without needing to purchase any hardware, such as a mobile handset or SIM card. Thus, the subscriber may access his account and use data services through a borrowed handset.

  • Patent number: 9467865
Abstract: Various embodiments implemented on a mobile communication device leverage the availability of multiple RATs to receive service from a combination of RATs that avoids the potential for inter-RAT coexistence interference. A mobile communication device processor may determine whether there is a likelihood of inter-RAT coexistence interference between a first RAT and a second RAT. In response to determining that there is a likelihood of interference occurring between the first RAT and the second RAT, the device processor may attempt to receive service with the first RAT and a third RAT that will not interfere with the first RAT. The device processor may monitor conditions to recognize when the likelihood of interference no longer exists between the first RAT and the second RAT, and reestablish service with the second RAT when that happens. Thus, the device processor may ensure that service is only acquired with non-interfering RATs.

  • Patent number: 9465685
Abstract: An expert system extracts events associated with executing an application from log files generated by various topological resources in a distributed computing environment. The events are plotted as plot points on a time series graph. Patterns are identified in the plot points that are associated with application problems, along with the computing environment configurations both before the problem and after the problem was resolved. The difference in the configurations represents a corrective action for the application problem, and the expert system links the corrective action to the pattern. When a pattern repeats in conjunction with another application problem, the corrective action is identified as a possible solution to the new problem. A confidence level associated with the pattern/corrective action may be increased when a user accepts the corrective action and may be decreased when a user rejects the corrective action.

  • Patent number: 9460624
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a lane identity of a vehicle travelling in a roadway where the roadway contains a plurality of lanes is determined based on information from sensors associated with the vehicle and map data for detecting the lane marker type to a left side and right side of the vehicle, any lane crossings during travel of the vehicle along the roadway, a history of lane marker type up to a predetermined travel distance along the roadway, and the lane marker type at the instantaneous position of the vehicle in the roadway. The lane identity method and apparatus outputs a confidence belief identifying the probability that the vehicle is traveling in one particular lane of the roadway.
